Calgary, World's 25 Best City To Live In

"Personal safety and security" as parameters are a far cry from enjoyable.

Personally this city is a bit cold, closed off, and dark. Maybe that' just me.

If you look at the province, Calgary is more the "brain" and Edmonton is more the "heart". Together, they make this province go. Take one or the other away and you've got problems.

Perhaps, but medicine has invented an artificial heart, but has yet to invent an artificial brain. Therefore, Edmonton is replaceable, whereas Calgary is not

That is a pretty scary place to visit sometimes.

I have three close friends that live down there. One has had a car stolen, one had his place broken into and the other has been stabbed at a gas station. And all three are pretty quiet, easy going people, not gangsters.

I know that's a pretty small sample size, but I'm surprised nevertheless.

Tell them they would be a lot safer if they didn't parade around in their Flames jerseys

As you yourself said, it's all subjective. So anyone can say Calgary is the leader of Alberta for whatever reasons work for them and they're absolutely right, whether you agree with them or not. You may disagree with them based on your own DIFFERENT subjective opinions and be equally right. Either way, this type of "p*ssing match" ends up being totally useless and, by MY subjective opinion, stupid. So why not give it up? You like Edmonton, others like Calgary. Good for all of you. Personally, I don't like cities in general.

All cities suck. I personally can not stand being in the city for more than a day..........you feel so confined. Its good to go in for a day and get a taste of civilization but geeze, I get so stressed just walking in a empty mall trying to buy hockey equiptment. Everybody come to Flatbush .

Ha, i am the opposite! I LOVE the city! The closer and more in the middle of downtown the better. My dream is to have a wicked little condo in the middle of one of the busiest and most happening sections of downtown...

Yes, but Vancouver has resisted the amalgamations that other cities it's size has. I lived in the Vancouver "metro: area for several years (Coquitlam), and I could be in downtown Vancouver in less time than some people who live in Calgary could be in downtown Calgary.

If Vancouver were like most cities, the metro area would already be part of Vancouver proper.

I've lived in Calgary, Victoria, Montreal, and Vancouver.

out of those cities, I would for sure select Calgary. I think I might have a toss up between Montreal and Vic. I didn't like Montreal when I was there, but now after seeing some other cities, I realize how awesome it is. Victoria is just damn nice cause its small and easy to get to know.

Vancouver on the otherhand is one of the most unwelcoming, overpriced and stuck up cities I have ever been to or lived in. It is just a very fake city. Plus, the city itself is ugly as hell. Sure, its natural surrounding is excellent, the buildings are terrible - all the same pacific rim bullshinguard high rises.

As one can see, I am baffeled by Vancouver's high rating. It is a hole of a city.

You should have chosen green text for that, but don't worry it shows through all the same.
