So they'll probably have to play tomorrow, Friday (2nd round), and Saturday (3rd round)

Crazy!

Did this 1st round match start on day 2?

Yup bottom half of the draw. The Top half is already into the 3rd round to be played on Friday.

It's hard to truly tell what he was thinking but did anyone else see the post-game interview and get the impression the Isner wanted to keep playing? I thought I picked up on when they were discussing whether to stop play and then when the interview happened he seemed a tiny bit frustrated with Mahut for being a wuss.

To put this Mahut/Isner match in perspective....

Previously the longest MATCH in pro tennis history was 113 games long.

In the 5th SET of this current marathon...they have played 118 games and are still going.

It is simply unprecedented in any sport at any level. The only thing I can think of that may compare is those cricket matches you hear about that last 2 days....but i dont believe its uncommon for that to happen.

Today is at about an hour right now...so that would be 8 hours total for this set.
