I do agree there is lines. Where I can find humor in a porn star named Hill, falling off a hill, in what was likely a self induced, drug fueled killing rampage like a Grand Theft Auto game or something. I find it tough to find humor in a new born child being mauled and partially eaten alive by a dog, subsequently dying a very painful horrible death, that you would not be able to even comprehend or defend yourself against. If you find humor in it, you are likely a little sick.
I did not start the thread with the intent that it would be a one liner thread, and I honestly thought CP was above joking about a mauled to death infant. There are certain things that just aren't funny, and I would classify this in that category.

Nothing is as depressing as seeing those tiny little baby coffins. If you think this story is funny, then consider that image.

Was anyone actually making jokes about it untill justanothertroll started whining like he always does? I don't find it funny at all but when someone is constantly being the moral police I find that funny.

Newborns shouldn't be left alone, but if I had to guess I'd bet the baby probably fell asleep in the carseat, so they decided to leave her napping in the carseat on the other side of the door while they popped outside for a quick smoke.
Just my assumption of course, but anyways, the whole thing is pretty awful.

Freak accident, I'm sure the family is paying dearly for this. I never knew that you couldn't leave a dog alone with a child. This could have happened to me.

Anyways, gonna watch the kid and dog extra close now though.
If I were to joke about this, I would say "does anyone know if you can get a baby bib made out of steak"?

Kids cry? That's what bourbon is for.
Anyways, off to lunch, I have a hankering for some baby back ribs.

Dogs are weird.
My sister had a "sweet" German Sheppherd cross but it turned mean almost as soon as she had her baby. The final straw is when it started growling and gnashing its teeth when she tried to near the crib.
She had to get rid of the dog. It was a very tame and nice dog before that though.

Lol I never even got that joke, but I must admit its pretty funny. The joke that is, not the fact a infant was killed.

How old should a child be before it can be left alone with a large but generally non-aggressive dog? I don't have a kid or a big dog, but either or both could be added to the family within the next few years, so I guess this is a good time for me to think about it.
This is a really sad story, but I feel like there must have been more to it than just the mother being tragically thoughtless for a few minutes if she's going to be charged.

My thought would be around 13. They need to be able to grasp the concept of dog behavior. That's just a personal feeling though.

The baby was in "a car seat" for an infant on the floor of a home with the two dogs when she was attacked, he added. The dogs did not belong to the mother or the grandmother. They belong to a young couple who also lived there but who were not home."The mother and the grandmother were inside the house with the two dogs and the baby and then (the two women) decided to step outside," McInnis said. "They were gone for some time, longer than they expected. When they came back inside the baby had been attacked and she was dead."
McInnis said there was no chance to save the child. "It was an obvious death."

As terrible it is for the parents, the owners of the dogs have to feel pretty bad too. They weren't even home or anything and their dogs killed the baby. Negligent parenting is no excuse.

Yeah, my wife and I own two bigger dogs. If we had freinds let themsleves in our house and leave their baby alone with them....and then our boys killed the baby, I would be devastated.

jealousy. Our cats were visibly pissed off when we had kids. One of them had to find a new home because of it.
