Tim Erixon Update

Craig Button may be biased, but he had good things to say about Erixon last night when they did the re-ranking of last year's drafted players yesterday on the pre-draft show. Moved up to 14th overall I believe.

Here's hoping his development isn't stymied too much & that he doesn't get offloaded to someone else before we see him shine here.

Erixon is playing a regular shift in the SEL against pros. His development should be going fine.

I meant I hope they keep him in his current playstyle, not force him to another which the Flames mgmt seems to like to trend towards.

Ahh, fair enough.

If Erixon is as good as he seems, I'm sure the team will be happy to let him be himself. They drafted him for his package of skills, after all.

at first when i saw that i was all excited, but didn't Button's brother draft him? hahahahaha.

Still can't wait to see him over here.

Craig Button had Erixon top 10 in one his rankings or mock drafts prior to the draft last year. I dunno if thats because he's seen Erixon a ton himself, or perhaps he was swayed by brother Tod's opinion of him, or perhaps not Tod at all and instead a bunch of Craig's other contacts in the scouting community?

Yeah exactly. He had him 10th IIRC (and Darryl said the same thing, leading me to believe that either the Buttons think too similar, or talk too much). Either way, that means that he's dropped 4 spots in his own rankings.
