I want this game, but I want to play the first one (or two? ) first. What's a good level to play the original DE at? I'm not sure if I need to set it lower or if I'm just not "getting it"?
Honestly, it would depend on your character type. If you want to run and gun, probably set the difficulty on normal. Because I played it many times, I go with max difficulty and play a stealth character.
If you want to play the game to get the story and background, just set it at normal difficulty.
Just finished the game and wow was this one amazing game. I'm so much more into games like this than shoot em ups. The story was simply excellent, and it was so engrossing throughout.
spoilers time so don't click unless you hate yourself.
Spoiler!
I loved the idea of multiple choices for endings, I went with Sarifs, after viewing all the choices on youtube afterwards I'm happy with that choice.
But wth is going on in the very end of the credits? Could someone explain that for me

the after-credits video only makes sense to those who played and remember the original Deus Ex. there's quite a few nods to the original game interspersed throughout the campaign, then that big one at the end. i also liked the few Canadian references put in, nice to see Edios Montreal being a bit patriotic
and while i liked DX3, the story just didn't grab me as much as the first game did, which i think is because everything only became clear at the very end. in the original Deus Ex, after uncovering the main conspiracy early on, you had a main villain at the top and you just filled in the details as you went along. with Human Revolution there was no clear aggressor until the final mission, and the final battle was pretty lame. i'm gonna give it a second playthrough to change some choices and get some of the things i missed, but i won't end up playing the ever loving crap out of it like i did Deus Ex
This game is making great strides in equality for women. Now they can get their ass beat in video games too, not only men are getting beat in video games.
I just started playing "for real" last night and after hours of arduous stealth, takedowns, and hacking, I am pissed off with myself because I only now realized that I shouldn't have taken so long at Sariff HQ at the beginning of the game because it wrecks one important outcome in the first mission that you can't undo unless you start the whole game over again!
Here's a hint! Get on the chopper to the mission under 15 minutes. Don't explore for 30 minutes like me.

Been playing way too much of this game. I'm currently in Hengsha for the second time. How has everyone been playing? Stealth seems really popular but I chose to kill all the enemies I could.

Can you give us that have done the game already and were slow as hell during that mission a rundown in /spoilers ?
The game is awesome, just like the old ones. My problem is I haven't been able to put some real time into it, just been playing bits and pieces. Love the atmosphere and style of it. I find the stealth elements pretty tough so far, I usually end up screwing up and just having to blast the enemies away.

So I've been avoiding this tread like the devil because with work I've slowing been working my way through the game. Well I'm at the third boss fight now and like two hours of gameplay ago I was an idiot and took the upgraded chip. FML
