Sometimes I wonder how hard it would be to get into dealing. Even do it for a bit then get out. I'd be happy with a few hundred k. Sigh....
My buddy did it for a bit with blow. He was making thousands a week, with very little effort. The thing is though, it doesn't really work if the dealer has an addiction to his own product.
He was getting it in large quantities and it was uncut. For someone who is addicted to blow, this was the worst thing he could have in his possession. He let me try a bit of it before it was cut, and if anyone remembers that scene in the movie "blow" where the guys eyes go wide and he says "I can't feel my face"....My reaction was pretty close to that.
...and if anyone's done blow, you know that it leaves you wanting more. Now a normal person/casual user will do what they have and go "well, that's it". Where as an addict will keep getting more until they can't get it anymore. Now imagine you're addicted and there's enough blow to last you days in your house.
At one point, he did 11 grams of pure cocaine in one night, almost died, and then went to rehab.
So I guess the moral of the story is, drug dealing brings lots of easy money, but isn't worth the risk, and lifestyle change.

Sorry man, this is either one of two things!
1) your bullshuting
2) someone is bullshuting you!
11 grams of pure cocaine would kill an elephant, the hardest of hardest addicts might be able to handle 1 -1.5 grams of pure coke once in their short lives but not in a million years even close to 11 grams of pure heart stopping ecstasy. Any human would be dead long before they feel even a slight high.

It seems easy to get into, but hard.. very hard to get out. Either you'd simply get addicted to making that kind of money, or you're in so deep you get connected to the violent side of things, ie. gangs and such that'll tell you 'there's no way out.'

This is not even debatable
A) "pure" as in "Calgary Pure" which isn't fully pure
B) cocaine "grams" are actually .6 or .7 of a gram
C) I obviously wasn't there, so with those two things factored in, if it is still impossible than that would be him BS'ing not me.

Or maybe I've seen too many movies. =P
Sometime's "movies" are documentaries and most likely true!

I bought some in the summer off a guy who had a baby seat in the back. I asked him if he had a family, and he said he had a girlfirend and two little girls. It kind of made me sad. I mean, if you want to be single, deal drugs and accept the risk, fine. But that's just sad to see someone with the responsibility of raising a family, and dealing drugs at night.

I'm not saying your the BS man, I'm saying nobody could handle that amount. even using your numbers at .6 (even if pure isn't really pure) would still be lethal.
Like I said, this isn't a debate. so just phone him up and tell him he's F-of-S!

Interesting.....But you still bought it!. Did it lessen the high?
I've never tried coke, but everyone I know that has says the exact same thing "It's not that great".
Why is it so wildly popular?
It really depends on what you're doing. If you're partying and drinking and having a great time, a line of blow can be a great rush, especially if everyone's doing it.
It can also be pretty "meh" if you're not already having a good time. IE: If you have some leftover and decide to just do it by yourself while watching TV or something, it's a pretty minor feeling...definitly not worth what it costs.
So I guess the moral of the story is, it can be fun to do while having a good time, and can enhance an already great night. But it isn't something people should use to try and "create" a good time.
