I signed up for that free Maxim offer that someone posted here last year. I used to have a Maxim subscription in the late 90s, but gave it up a long time ago.

The quality and size of that magazine has decreased dramatically in the last 10 years, and it's not like it was a work of literature back then.

Quick question, does anyone know why men's magazines are often so over the top homo-erotic? I think the same thing could be said about women's magazines. Also, Cosmopolitan and Maxim are almost interchangeable.

Add another Wired subscriber. I also get the scuba diver magazine which comes with my DAN membership.

I used to get Digital Camera magazine from the UK. Lots of good articles on tips and techniques.

EDIT: Correcting myself . . . . . my father gave me a subscription to National Geographic in 1979 and I've kept it up ever since. When he died, I acquired his Geo's from 1963 through 1978. So I have a big yellow bookcase in my home office and some individual copies from 1929.

I usually read stuff on-line and, if there's a cost, like a lot of the Wall St. Journal as an example, I don't bother.

I browse and read a lot through the day, lots of newspapers and magazines.

I have been using my Kindle to get two-week free trial subscriptions to newspapers when I'm away on holidays and don't have ready internet access.

I haven't seen anyone's opinion that is actually worth paying for. Most likely the person who costs money to view has a parrot who's free somewhere else.

That's the curse of the net.

If the economist wasn't so expensive, I'm sure I would have a subscription. I can feel my principled stand slowly, but surely, crumbling.

Walrus and Harpers are both excellent, I read every page.

The wife gets GC and Vanity Fair pretty regularly, and I read both of those as well.
