Agreed about Wild Rose.

Not sure what is my favorite yet.

Mostly been drinking the Velvet Fog these days.

It's like warmed up week old groundsquirrel vomit, but with a worse after taste.

It's just plain vile.

Did not know that. So I suppose a better way of putting it would be "before Molson started mass-producing it". It definitely tastes different after the changeover.

Also, any Wild Rose beer is tasty, and will give you a hangover that will render you useless for a week.

At least Canadian/Kokanee are drinkable as they are generic.

I like it, would say it's my favorite of the mass produced cheep Canadian beers. Far better than Canadian or Kokanee or Keiths.

Red is poop. Do a blind taste test between it and Canadian some time. Indistinguishable.

I liked White until I learnt that it pushed Velvet Fog out of Calgary Pubs in some sort of stupid exclusivity deal crap.

I would take a Rickards over a Canadian, Kokanee, Keiths, Blue, and Coors. But that's it. It's basically a last resort.

The best beer in Canada is Steamwhistle. Of course, I love pilsners and that's one of the best pilsners in the world. Don't know if you can get it in AB?

Yes, you can get Steamwhistle in Alberta. I've seen it in multiple liquor stores.

Quoted for truth. Call a fruit if you want but there is nothing wrong with a good white beer in the summer. The Belgiums and Germans also make good ones.

I'm not a huge fan of Rickard's Red but their Honey Brown is ok. White is their best beer but I have yet to try their Dark.

I used to love Sleeman's Honey Brown but my favourite HB is Big Rock. I did a tour of the brewery last year and it was fantastic. I highly recommend it. $25 for a tour, a few free samples to start, a few beers worth of samples at the end and you can take a 6 mix-and-match pack of your choosing home.

I've seen it for sure. They also have it Loungeburger, decent brew.

Like many here, I consider myself a beer snob. Here are some of my favourite Canuckistany beers:

Quebec:
- St. Ambroise Apricot Wheat Ale
- La Fin Du Monde - Unibroue
- Blache de Chambly- Unibroue
- Ephemere - Unibroue
- Chambly Noire - Unibroue
- Don de Dieu - Peche Mortel

Alberta:
- Big Rock Honey Brown
- McNally's Extra Ale
- Trad with a shot of Jagger dropped in it
- WildRose Wraspberry
- Velvet Fog

BC:
- Kokanee Gold
- Whistler Honey Ale
- Kootenay Mountain Ale
- Cutthroat by Tree Brewing

Others:
- Rickard's White
- Keith's
- Kokanee Gold

Agreed, though I think its the next one down as far as major domestics go...except for Rickard's White. Any "beer" that comes served with an orange isn't a real beer.

Yep, I'm a college student and work part time at a liquor store and we sell that. Very tasty. Also agreed with who said Wild Rose, their Velvet Fog is awesome, very smooth. I also recommend Thirsty Beaver amber.
