I love how Dave Sheldon referred to Garth Murray as the Hulk at the start of the video. Later in the game Playfair Hulks his jacket off. Amazing stuff.

Love how when he tore his jacket off, he basically strangled himself with his tie

(shot I took from my seat... that's the best I could zoom in)

That was the first AHL game I ever attended, and despite the fact that there was no Backlund, no Chucko, no Wahl, no Nemicz, no Negrin, no Pelech, no Irving... I got my entertainment value from good old JP.

That is an unbelievably bad call by the ref. Good on Playfair.

I still think it was a mistake to let go of Playfair. This guy is a great coach.

Just saw this on Connected again, the player behind Playfair can't stop laughing while this is going on.

Wow. He absolutely lost it. I've never seen Playfair so animated when he was up with the Flames

Sad part is unless Playfair ended up losing his marbles like he did, this call would just go unnoticed.

Good on him.

You gotta love Playfair! I hope he has a long coaching career in the NHL sad that IMO he never had the players respect here.

Why would his job be on the line?

He's taken an offensively challenged team to a playoff spot in their first year.

I can remember Playfair freaking out a couple of times here. He's one of those coaches that really, really cares about his players and when he feels that they're being given the short end of the stick, let's everyone know about it. He's a very quietly intense guy, and him exploding in 2001 was seen as a sort of galvanizing moment for that season.
