Start saving young or always pay yourself first. Saying "wait until I'm done school." "I'll start when I've paid off my student loans" "I'll start after my first year of work" "wait until I get married" etc means you'll never start. Figure out how to save a little for the future now and you'll keep the discipline going through life. You'll also find you're in a better position than most people.
Having said that, don't be afraid to live and don't be in a huge hurry to grow up. If you have the opportunity to spend 3 months backpacking in Asia or start your first real job, put the job on hold and go. Once you do start that job and start thinking about a house and getting married and everything else, the ability to get away for a number of months decreases.
"Today is the tomorrow you talked about yesterday."
Another one a former manager told me which I've lived by is in a stressful situation is to ask yourself "is anyone going to die if I don't ____?" If the answer is no then take the time to breathe and relax. Chances are you'll be able to get it done anyway as you'll be more focused instead of frazzled.
Nobody ever remembers if you admit you were wrong.
Pass praise on to your team, keep complaints to yourself.
Whenever you point your finger at someone, three fingers are pointing back at you.
Keep your back to the wind when peeing.
And perhaps the most important one for this board, don't stress or worry about things you have no control over.
