Sounds like they've made an arrest! And in the hyperbole of the year award...

Grave concern? For something that appears to be a joke? Come on...

I don't think any black person I've met has actually liked watermelon or fried chicken.

They should go to Chicken on the Way. They NEVER run out of Chicken.

Oh please. I'm black and I'd die of laughter if I heard that at Wal-Mart. People are so uptight these days. I had a high school teacher who tried to get me expelled for no reason and was quite clearly racist, got herself fired. I've won the battle so far.

Just a quick question,

My boss (who's about 57) was talking about the girl who won the oscar for a movie, Mo-nique I think her name is, big girl.

So he said "she looked miserable, even in the crowd when she was sitting with a bunch of other negros"

I just kind of had an "ughhhhhhh" moment after. He's not racist - but would that generally be found an offensive way to word things?

I'm going to go with a resounding yes on that one.

Well there probably aren't too many black people coming to your weekly Klan meetings.

And he's usually long gone by the time they notice the burning crosses he's put on their lawns.

That brings up an interesting topic - What do black people find most acceptable as a term? I have had times at work when I was sending a staffer to go find a client who's black, and we usually describe the person...

With a white person I'm like "white girl, short, blonde hair, always eating cheetohs" or what have you...

Is it just as acceptable to say "the tall black girl" ? Or is there a better term I am unaware of?
