You make a good point. Another blunder was not leaving the Crosby line on in that last minute. Call the time out and they get some rest.

Joe thronton is anything but clutch when it matters.

The media needs to stop pandering to Babcock, and start asking the real questions.
If a goalie steals a game, it just means the team wasn't good enough. Championship teams always find a way.

Worst Canadian team ever.

It's come down to Luongo if Canada is to win gold.

Anyone else notice that the extra skater when they pulled the goalie was Perry. Really?

Thornton and Marleau are stone hands so far in this tournament. Also, Boyle has been disappointing with the bad turnovers in every game.

I thought Martin Brodeur should have been yanked after the 2nd goal. Actually, I felt from the beginning he shouldn't even be in net.

Yep. Depending on Thornton in a big game is certain failure. The guy is anti clutch.

Guess I should post this here too.

Mike Babcock is an moron. I love how he puts Iggy on the top line and they create chances. Maybe should've have stuck with that from the start! Iggy score goals, let Iggy do that in a spot he'll accel at it at. He also loves to tweak lines so much and have little sense of chemistry between all players save one line basically. Reminds me of a certain coach...and whats up with no timeout and let the line creating chances?

Brouder was brutal with his super aggressive goaltending, bad defense by our suppose to be top defenders, and unreal goaltending by Miller is why Canada has to take an extra game to get in the playoff round.

Don't think Canada is gonna get a medal now to be honest. Unless Babcock plays Luongo and sticks with his lines with having Iggy play with Crosby. Even then this game and the Swiss game is leaving some doubts.

What a sickening loss.

Canada did everything they needed to win but had no puck luck and got robbed a few times.

Americans did nothing to deserve the win at all and do not look very good going forward.

I know that international reffing sucks, but am still always shocked by the terrible job they do, even with NHL refs thrown in there.

Would have obviously preferred to finish in the top 4 but not too worried about the team as they have looked as good or better than the other teams out there.

icon54 I'm not sure the best team won

In my opinion, I thought Heatley was the most dangerous skater. Wondering if Babcock would even consider pairing him with Crosby. Anyway, it wasn't the gold medal game...

That is why Babcock=fail. You couldnt look down your bench and come up with someone else then Perry. Unbelievable.

said it in the GDT but I am guessing based on today's play

Perry gets 25 mins of ice time next game

Doughty was great so he gets benched

Seabrook might play goal

iginla looked great with the 1st line, so he plays even less against Germany

That's the only thing I can take solace in right now. The "I told you in December" thing makes me feel a little better.

Guys, guys, guys. Let's all settle down and remember how important it is that Iggy recognize that we only need him to check people. We have Corey Perry, Mike Richards and Patrice Bergeron to score our goals for us.

As soon as Jarome Iginla realizes that he's only there to play 6 minutes a game and hit people, we'll start winning.

being outcoached starting from game #1. for a good one period, canada could not find the back of the net against the norwegians. game #2 when swiss was playing trap, freaking technical trap expert ken hitchcock could not find a way to solve it? game #3 playing the sharks line until the team desperated to score, then back insert iggy on top line. babcock has just, in his decisions, silently admitted he had made a mistake in line combos.

It was sarcasm based on a comment Babcock made about Iginla the other day.

Completely disagree. Puck luck had nothing to do with this loss.
