I feel that the punishment should fit the crime.
Apprehend him. Throw him off (a likely incomplete) roof....and then throw the biggest goddamn dictionary you can lay your hands on right on his skull. Maybe you can beat some spelling into him.

Contractors are shady folk sometimes. Although I also have a couple friends who got screwed on their deposits when a high-end baby shop in Kensington just locked the doors, disconnected the phones and took off into the night. So I guess it can kind of happen anywhere.
Hope they can get some money back at least!
