I found it pretty funny, with the exception of the few terms I have honestly never heard before.

Who the hell calls them ABMs? The Armsee thing was definitely new too.

I wonder where he had to go to hear these things.

it just goes to show that we are better then Americans. Everybody seems to right bad things about America and not Canada. Except the Oil sands.

Then again, I live where we have a fairly significant amount of Canadians and embrace the small cultural and language differences. (like soda vs. pop)

I wish writers didn't feel the need to write articles that make it seem like Americans and Canadians are adversaries. There are so many more ways our people are alike than are different. Why manufacture controversy where its unnecessary? Lame.
I think in So cal that would be as close to shinny as you get...dont really get outdoor ice in winter, or do you? So in that instance I think the term shinny would be correct, as for the sticks in the middle thing thats exactly how its done on ice...so really its the same thing but on concreate

Duh, he is an American writer, metric is too deep a concept for him to find something witty to say about it.

Yeah Reilly is such a moron that he has won the Nat'l Sportswriter of the year 11 times and that Gretzky chose him to cowrite his autobiography. I mean the guy is considered one of if not the best in the biz.

He is American, therefore he must be hated for no logical reason whatsoever!!

Reilly used to write great material, he's slipped considerably in the last few years. Just the same tired bit being recycled over and over again.

Wow - I can't believe people here are taking this seriously. The article is clearly tongue in cheek. I found it very funny.

I am aware of all that. However, I would wager his knowledge of the metric system is minimal. That is not necessarily a knock on him per se, it is a knock on most Americans since they still employ the Imperial system.

I read this article, I figure the writer used some age old stereotypes about Canada and Canadians and He's obviously picked up on a few idiocincratic behaviours of Canadians and decided to throw them in his article as well.

Not a lot of thought put into his writing, and he didn't bother backing up any of his calims..like the whole "ARMSEE" thing? ..I've never heard anything close to that. I think he just tapped this out on his lap-top in less than a minute and submitted it.

The only thing that sort of pissed me off was the comment regarding Cypress re: dumping snow on the course via helicopter and he asks "Who does That?" .....Well, maybe a group of organizers that is commited to doing whatever it takes to make the event a success!!!....That's Who "Does That"!!!

Other than that, I thought it was a light hearted article with little thought put into it.

Can't wait until Canada's men hockey team blows the skirts of the U.S team. Lets see what he writes after that.

Oh please. It is employed in public transportation. It is used consistently in academia and science and every kid learns it.

You guys really have some far out theories about us sometimes.

Weird I learned the metric system all throughout my life in school. Do you have any idea what you are talking about?
