Seems something the Flames may do, so maybe I'll do that
In all seriousness, is it worthwhile to buy maybe a line's worth of players? And is it a good idea to sell useless players (ovr ~100-110 with no potental) or just let their contracts expire?
Thanks!

I would say spend on a goalie first and see what you have left. If you have a good goalie it will help so much, my team has never been as good as the teams around me in my leagues but I've managed to get promoted in each of my first 2 seasons because of strong goaltending. I bought 5 guys in my first year, and have 2 of them still. Once your sports academy improves you won't need to use the market as much, but yes, try to get some maybe older players that will go for cheaper that will be of use for you for a year or 2, but don't spend more than 500 000 on them. Like I said, I have a few that can help people short term and if I put them up so they sell at like midnight on a sunday, you could probably pick them up for as little as 40 or 50 thousand because most people are asleep at that time.

Scout him, you should find out his real qualities, those are just approximate numbers, which can be misleading when your HR is low. But if those are his actual qualities your really lucky! too bad his tech isn't higher. What's his Goal-Tech-Pass at right now?

33 Goal, 25 pass, 22 Tech.
So if I scout him how accurate am I? 100% even if my facilities are low?

Oh that's not bad starting for goalie.
Ya you would be 100%, just the scouting takes longer when your facilities are low. Everyone should be trying to scout their players actually right now, it helps decide which players will end up actually being good, and what type of players you need to try to aquire.

Yeah I kinda just stumbled upon that one.
That's a nice looking goalie Caramon!!
Another question for Kendal, when and who (and how many) should we be sending to the training camp, and what does it do?

You can send players to training camp twice a season. I like to do it when I either in years past playing against teams I know I would beat even with a depleted roster, but this year I'm probably going to run my first training camp against teams I know I can't beat anyways. You should do one during the season and one right after playoffs are finished (there's a week between the end of one season and beginning of the next).
Training camps improve players a lot faster, depending on what level your sports academy is at. the higher the SA the more players you can send as well. You should wait until you have scouted a few people and know which ones would benefit the best from training camp before you send them, and you should also try and wait till you get a sporting director in your staff before you send players.

4-1 win today! My leading goal scorer, with two more goals today, is a defenseman with 6 points in 5 games (4G 2A)...not what I would expect but i'll take it!

Ya it's weird, you'll find defensemen score a lot more than they should, my all-time leading scoring is a defensemen Josh Recchi, has 77 points in 74 games. My best forward Ville Emanuelsson has 52 points in 51 games.

What type of players do you need? Post what you want and I'll post screen shots of some of my players I'm willing to part with, see if you would want them.
p.s. I hate those losses. I lost in the finals last season with 14 seconds to go in the third he tied it up and then with 40 seconds to go in OT his scored to win it. I knew I would win the shootout so I was very pissed.

Also had a win today, putting me to 3-3 on the season.
Oddly enough, with my team, my 3rd line is putting up the majority of my points.
I really can't wait to get to enough experience to get some players on the market, because holy lord my goalie is terrible.

Ya I saw that...that sucks! I think I lost to him last week too though...strange considering I don't think he changes his stratagies at all...
I'll be hitting the market at about the same time as you (think I joined an hour or two later?). What are you gonna focus on buying?

If the same goes for me...I'd like to pick up at least one defenseman and one winger. Both R (or U). Thanks!

How about these 2? Both have been with me since day 1, Greg Clegg was my allstar in my first season but got knocked off the starting roster last year, and now would only probably be played if a few guys got injured, so it's time for him to leave the team. Parent has been a great utility defensemen for me all three seasons, I always underestimated him, never had him on the starting roster and he always played himself onto it.

Clegg looks pretty good, needs a little work on shooting but overall looks good! Would definately like him on my first line.
Not sure about Parent, as his technique is really low compared to his aggression; I'm thinking he'd take way too many penalties. Any other right handed d-men you'd part with?
Edit: what's with the faces

Oh if you had the pro pack one of the perks is you get faces for the players haha.
And for me Parent has not commited many penalties at all. In 37 career games he's had 14 penatly minutes. Also 1G 19A 20P, +23. So if that trend continues I wouldn't think he'd give you too many penalties. I don't have many right handed defensemen unfortunately so I can't afford to let anyone else go. But I'll put Clegg on the market right now, he's set to sell at Midnight on Monday night, hopefully the market will be pretty quiet then and you'll get him cheap.

Thanks man, I'll probably play the market and see what's out there, but I'll definately look at him when the time comes!
