I am so damn sick and tired of all these vain hiphop dj trends/fashions/sounds being accepted as "music."
Everyone do yourselves a favor and listen to Devin Townsend...a true Canadian music icon. (His solo material is amazing and for those who like it a little heavier, check out his band Strapping Young Lad)
BTW, I can't wait to see what Sutter does next.

I also hate the way auto-tune is used in popular music mostly in hip-hop where it is pushed to the max. Some producers and artists, like previously posted, use auto-tune to touch up vocals or used as an effect and it doesn't sound fake or un-organic if you will. Thst is how it should be used IMO.
Funny you bring up Devin Townsend, I'm a huge fan of his and an aspiring producer myself. The following video shows how he uses auto-tune on a few vocal tracks layered underneath some of the main vocals (with no auto-tune) to create a great sounding track. The whole video is basically a Pro Tools wankfest...its amazing the kind of layering and sounds he puts into his tracks without you knowing whats there with the final product.

edit: the video is 10mins long, he talks about auto tune at the start but the whole video is pretty amazing.
Sorry can't remember how to embed video's, but check it out.
