1. The game 6 that's been mentioned here oh so many times. Probably will be hard to beat unless the Flames ever win the cup again. I still have never watched the video of inside the 'dome that I took. Can't do it.

2. World Cup Germany '06. Amazing. An Australian friend and I followed the Ozzie team around Germany as they went on their little Cinderella run, knocking out Croatia.

3. Aggasi vs Blake quarter finals at US Open 2005. Agassi was down two sets, somehow managed to come back and tie it, and then won in a tie breaker. Arthur Ashe was going nuts.

4. And one that will haunt me, being soooo close to attending one of the legendary Boca v River El Clasico games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It's one of the most anticipated matches of the year at perhaps the most electric stadium ...

pics

Had the tickets but the game time changed and I would have missed my flight.

Soccer has some sort of special quality about it live. I saw a Canada vs Jamaica Gold Cup qualifying match this summer and it was amazing. Better then any Flames game I've ever been to besides the two I mentioned.

The atmosphere is just soo much better

Agreed, you couldn't pay me enough to watch a soccer game on TV, but being there changes everything! From the pre-game, to having flags waved and chants the whole game was one of the best experiences of my life.

1997 #1 Florida vs. LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. Undefeated Florida came into Tiger Stadium undefeated, an up and coming LSU Tiger team added another notch in their belt, winning 28-21.

2004 PGA Championship - Whistling Straits, Kohler, WI. Sitting on the 18th green for the final round.

3 man playoff between Vijay Singh, Justin Leonard, and Chris DiMarco. Singh (my favorite golfer) pulled out the playoff victory!

It was great to be able to spend the week and just watch the greatest golfers in the world show their brilliance, as well as see them make mistakes we all make. John Daly shooting an 8 on a par 4 comes to mind...

- Clemson vs NC State football game. Amazing atmosphere in Death Valley. 80000 people decked out in orange, the band, the cheerleaders, seats 10 rows up on the 50. College football in the US is an amazing experience that I'd recommend to anybody.

- 2008 CFL Western Final, Stamps vs BC

- 2009 LPGA event at Priddis Greens. Two words: Natalie Gulbis.

Not a Spurs fan!
Still haven't seen a Premiership match live in my life, and am so jealous. Shameful considering I've been to London about 6 times too, but always seems to be during the offseason.

Without a shadow of a doubt, it's Game 6 of the 2001 Calder Cup Finals.

Saint John's second-ever trip to the Finals, first season with 100 points or more, and earlier that season they had a season ticket drive to keep the team for two more years. I honestly can't even put into words how amazing it was to be there for that game and to finally see my favorite, home-town team win it all.

Only 4 players from that team are playing in the NHL today: Blair Betts, Steve Begin, Steve Montador, and Chris Clark.

Wings game 6 in 04, and San Jose the same year, the game 6 vs Vancouver erasing that 4-0 deficit
Been at Yankee stadium when Giambi hit his 300th homerunm and then a couple years later being in Yankee stadium whe A-Rod was going for 500 HRs that place was electric, he didn't get it that night but was still cool to be there.

Random regular season game between Sabres and Panthers. Only game I've seen in Buffalo, it was amazing! Vanek scored in OT to win it.

Watching a random Flames prospect camp with my jersey on and having DARRYL FRIKKIN SUTTER come sit down right beside me to watch as well. Was a pretty surreal moment.

My first hockey game. I had been a hockey fan for 2 years (watched every Flames game on TV, ones that weren't on I'd listen on the radio, 66CFR at the time) and I was about 12 y/o or something... so when my dad's friend invited me, it was the greatest feeling in the world to see the real, live thing. I still remember where I sat too, it was sec 15 row 17 or 18, seats were about 7 or 8.

Since my dad's friend picked me up a little late, we got to the Dome, we were 10 minutes into the game, down 3-0 to Pittsburg and Tyler Moss was starting his first NHL game. It was a surreal experience at the time for me, Flames players who I had always seen on TV were in the same building, the ice was so bright, and when the players came onto the ice, Bezeley's "ladies and gentleman, your calllgaaaaarrrrrryyyyy flaaaaammessssssss" with all the fire and everything was the greatest thing in the world. Anyways, Aaron Gavey and Todd Hlushko both got 2 goals in that game, Moss stopped Jagr on a breakaway (Lemieux was out, I think Francis was injured too) and Moss stopped everything else and the Flames came back to win 6-3.

Cause of that, Tyler Moss was my first favourite NHL player.

(2nd greatest live experience, game 6 vs Detriot)

The Miracle on Manchester. Was down there with my family to go to Disneyland. 10 years old.

3 games of the 2002 World Cup in Suwon (US vs Portugal), Daejeon (Spain vs. S. Africa), and Jeonju (US vs Mexico) were pretty damn cool too. Partying with the Mexicans on the train back to Seoul was freakin' awesome (even though they lost).

Other than my sentimental favorite live sports memory of my dad catching a foul ball for me at a Baltimore Oriols game, the Winter Classic in Buffalo was the best.

Getting tickets to the NLD was no small feat either. Posting on a Spurs forum called Glory Glory helped me make some friends who hooked me up with their own season tickets. Scalpers were asking $3000 a seat outside the grounds - I paid face value. $200.

- World Cup '94 - Giants Stadium, NJ - By far the most amazing event I have ever been to , hands down. Mexico and Ireland - and its giving me goosebumps thinking about the crowd for this game as I type this - when people say 'electric' they dont really understand what that means unless they have been to an world cup match. It was intense. Mexico won which sucked, but it was still amazing.(Im Irish and Ukrainian.)

Then the Phillies-Blue Jays World Series game was amazing as well - both of these were when I was real young and couldnt drink, which probably adds to my vivid memories of the events hahaha.

Default Arizona Cardinals vs. Chicago Bears Oct 16, 2006

Since I'm a huge NFL fan my most memorable live sporting event was my first NFL game down in Arizona. It was a monday night game with the Cards vs. the Bears October 16th.

With the Cards up by 20 points after the first half the bears stormed back to win the game 24-23. The Bears scored on 2 fumbles in the second half and Devin Hester returned a punt 83 yards with 2:58 remaining to take the lead.

Awesome atmosphere leaving the stadium as there were alot of Bears fans there. There were fights all over place walking to my car.

A bears fan even lit a Cardinals flag on fire. It was insane!

Highlights from the game

I will put mine down in anticipation for next month. Headed over to the olympics. Going to 12 games and I'm guaranteed one Canada game (Canada vs. US), and then two more if Canada is still playing, including the semi-finals. I'm sure one of the games will make my list.

Other than that though, I guess I will be the same as everyone else. Game 6 against the wings and the come back game against the sharks. The grey cup this year was pretty amazing even though I had nothing invested in either team.
