So it was a one man wolf pack?

Ha ha. Yeah. One wolf sighting in the city? Maybe. Nothing's impossible.

Two?

Everyone knows what a coyote is right?

Those bobcats are very cool. Can't wait to see more pics.

There are wolves in the city? You sure they ain't coyotes?

I'm not trying to sound like a (edit) stupidhead here, but I've never heard of wolves inside the city limits. They do get bears and moose in Fish Creek, so I guess a wolf isn't all that crazy. It seems kind of noisy and stinky for a wolf to be hanging around town snacking on Rover. Although I guess Rover probably tastes like Beggin' Strips, and those aren't half bad.

There's a chance that this is all over. I got home from hockey around 2 am and shone the flashlight under the picnic table and didn't see anything.

I'm going to check tomorrow morning and see if they are just somewhere else in the yard. I was going to do it tonight, but I was too scared to start wandering around, only to find out that they've moved over slightly and get attacked.

If they are gone I'll try to work with the pics I have, which is unfortunate because they're not the greatist (I'm also not a fan of the unflattering background of the pics, as we replaced some furniture recently and used that area to "dump" it until we actually "dump" it.

I also want to upload a decent pic of the mom, and maybe one of the dad as well. I'll keep working on it.

I will also now probably upload a couple of videos, too.

Could be a wolf - I swear I've seen one just past Butterfield Acres. However all the wild canines I've seen near us are coyotes.

I think I saw a wolf in between Citadel and Rocky Ridge. It was either a wolf or the largest coyote on the planet.

After reading this thread I grew concerned for Flameswin.. so I decided to check things out.

I fear that I arrived too late I do not take deaths in my sector lightly, these cats have made a powerful enemy today.

I think it is very unlikely that wolves appear in Calgary.

http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=30894

More likely, coyotes and domestic dogs are being mis-identified.

There was a pack in the Bow Valley that was reportedly decimated. There are sometimes reports of Wolves in the Rockies in SW Alberta. I have seen and heard wolves up the Clearwater River, and I saw one in Kootenay Park this summer. They are much bigger than coyotes, and you would not have much doubt if you saw one.

http://www.wolf.org/wolves/learn/sci...tracts/055.asp

Gray wolves (Canis lupus) naturally recolonized the Bow River Valley of Banff National Park in the mid 1980's. However, research showed high levels of human activity prevented wolves from moving between critical habitats within the Bow Valley.

http://www.daikynguyen.com/eet/print...04/A_3_REV.pdf

wolves tend to shy away from areas heavily populated by humans,

Bobcat's don't meow, they growl like a Tyrannousaur.

It's safe to assume Flameswin is indeed dead, mauled at the hands of ravenous bobcats.

Dibs on his hockey sticks.

I have my doubts, not about the felines running around his backyard and especially starring through his window. I don't think it was a bobcat.

It was

This is especially relevant if his wife is a blonde.
