Reynolds will likely be signed by training camp.
Deangelis and Hughes may be back one day, but don't expect them to start the season in red and white. Sandro has said that we shouldn't expect him back until at least mid season. He wants to give the NFL a complete try, and it sounds like that means even going to training camp without a signing bonus. Hughes got hurt in training camp last season, which hampered him, and in spite of that he still did quite well and made it to the last cuts. I can only think that he believes he can make it down there and will try everything he can. I bet we don't see him back at all this season. Even if he gets cut in training camp, he's going to hang around and try to generate more opportunities. He won't be back until it is his last resort.

agree he is 30 still on top of his game 2 years with the team having the option for a 3rd would be great.
Kuddos to the Stamps in getting this done.

Jack's brother to take over as team President and CEO.
Quote:
Longtime CFL executive Lyle Bauer was hired Monday as the Calgary Stampeders president and chief executive officer.
Bauer replaces Scott Ackles, who had stepped down to become the chairman of the 2011 Grey Cup in Vancouver.
"Lyle brings tremendous administration skills to the Stampeders and we're excited about having him take control of the club's business operations," John Forzani, Calgary's managing partner of business of operations, said in a statement. "He did an exceptional job of turning around the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' financial situation and has also been very successful in his non-football business pursuits."

If he stays out of the football operations side, I don't have a problem with it. He's a good business guy. If Huff and Barker are the guys making the calls on the field, then there should be no problem.

Not a CFL fan but thought this would interest some:

Sandro DeAngelis had a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys yesterday. He will hear back from them this week.

Sandro may still have the accuracy, although it slipped a bit last year, but he's lost a bit of leg (not that he was a long kicker to begin with). I think back to that game vs Sask the last regular season game they played here that Sask won in OT.
He certainly doesn't have the leg to make anything more then 45 yarders IMO regularly in the CFL or NFL.
Good luck to him.

Here's an update:
Okay, so far the Stamps signed RB Joffrey Reynolds and Jon Cornish. DLine Miguel Robede and Justin Phillips and OL Comiskey. Then Stamps signed Lyle Bauer as a President and Chris Jones signed an extension as Defensive Coordinator. Stamps adds some personnle responsibily on him meaning he's got some input on who they can go after.
So far we might have lost OG Dmitri Tsoumpas and K Sandro DeAngelis is trying out in the NFL. If we lose these two guys, it will be a big blow for the Stamps.
I am hoping the Stamps will sign a good punt returner who can also play regular on either defense or offense. Please I don't want to see any more Markus Howell returning the punt for 2 to 6 yards.

I'm not sure the Stamps would be sad to see Sandro go. Just a gut feeling - but the guy creates a lot of drama around McMahon. He's a helluva kicker but I think it might be time to part ways with him.

Time to get this thread rolling.
Calgary has re-signed Ken Yon Rambo. I hope he doesn't have a good year. They suffered without him when he went down.
The Tabbies have cut Nick Setta. Very odd.
The Lions have re-signed Brent Johnson and let go of Jason Jimenz and Javier Glatt.
Riders signed Omar Morgan.

What is your major malfunction? I hope Ken-Yon racks up the yards this year. Hopefully his knee is fully recovered.

I couldn't believe that Hamilton cut Setta. However, that could be Calgary's gain.

George Cortez is apparently heading to Buffalo to become the Bills QB coach.
Scott Milanovich the Montreal OC might become the new coach of the Argos.
