I'm kind of curious as to what she has done lately to warrant a second look. If she has presidential aspirations, then she needs to improve her resume imo. Making the talk show circuit will only get her so far.

I think her resignation hurts her even more. I don't think she'll get a sniff personally.

I can't recall a political candidate being so thoroughly overwhelmed so as to make the ridiculous gaffes that Palin has made. An inability to look competent in interviews, stumbling through debates with laughable attempts to dodge questions, taking calls from Canadian morning shows impersonating the French president, painting herself as a simple hockey mom and then spending $150k on her wardrobe, the list goes on. And every time something happens it's someone else's fault.
Don't you think maybe, just maybe, the scrutiny is due to her behavior? Every politician faces a ton of scrutiny, and it's not always fair, but she sets herself up to be hammered over and over again. This is simply another example of that.

Not all of it.
Did she do anything to warrant the rampant speculation, and temporary belief by millions of liberal blog addicted voters, that her youngest son was actually her grandson?
Besides, we're over a year past when any of it mattered and people are still getting their rocks off at her expense. It strikes me as just a bit odd. Obviously, she really bothers some people. For someone so irrelevant, she sure has become relevant. Why? I have no idea.

If she would get involved in some kind of international goodwill work, it would go a long way. One of the biggest knocks on her was her lack of international experience... and her confusing logic about being from Alaska counting towards that made her seem way over her head.
If she isn't going to hold an office in the meantime, then she should be taking on some kind of high profile cause.

Agreed.
She could've used her Alaska experience in a positive way but she tried to augment her lack of international experience with a geographic coincidence instead. Didn't work out so well.
Alaska has to be one of the most challenging states in the union to run. She didn't go there.

Bwahahaha!!! You got to be kidding! Obama is a bumpkin. Want a run down?
British PM upon his first visit withthe newly elected President had given Obama a set of pens made from part of the HMS Gannet, a Victorian-era anti-slave ship. A desk that has sat in the Oval Office since 1880 was made from the timbers of the HMS Resolute, the Gannet's sister ship. It was a stunningly thoughtful and unique gift left reciprocated (Unless of course you call DVD set thoughtful). But even worse, Obama refused to hold a joint press conference with Brown or invite him for an official White House dinner. And to top it all off, he sent back a bust of Churchill that was lent to the White House after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
- Check: British kicked in the teeth.
Since March, Obama's social gaffes have included bowing to the Saudi king
- staring at the rear end of a 16-year-old girl
- suggested that Cambridge Police Officer James Crowley was stupid
- refused to meet with the Dalai Lama
- he refused five requests from Gordon Brown for a one-on-one meeting but found time to fly to Copenhagen to promote Chicago's Olympic bid
- and this month he sent Hillary Clinton to attend the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall(very minor world event not even on his wonderfulness' radar), but later made up for that by sending a video message of him talking about himself to Berlin. - Check: Germans kicked in the teeth
- Then topped it all with a bow to the emperor of Japan.
Obama cannot even blame the Japan bow on proper protocol. It was anything but proper. It was so inappropriate that it even offended the Japanese. Japanese newspapers refused to print the greeting it was so insulting. Check - Japanese kicked in the teeth.
Do I need to go into his handling of the trade with Canada? How about his waffling on Afghanistan? Iran?
So what standing are you talking about? With Chavezes of the world?

No, she didn't--unless you count "being in politics," which tends to bring out the wackos from the woodwork.
A good comparison would be "birthers"--who are about as intelligent as the "her son is her grandson" crew. You could as easily ask--did Obama do anything to warrant the rampant speculation among nut-jobs and conspiracy theorists that he was actually born in Kenya? That is, did he do anything other than make the mistake of having the wrong skin colour and the wrong kind of name?
My point is just this: if you're in politics, you'll be attacked--sometimes the attack is warranted, sometimes it's stupid and unfair. The game is won or lost by how well you handle that reality--and Palin is, frankly, terrible at it.

As a woman in America, the idea of her running the White House absolutely horrifies me. And then you add Glenn Beck? Scary.
Though man, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert would have a field day with it.

I was equally vocal about the birther stuff here too. Swift boat stuff, same thing.

I heard somewhere that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young girl in 1990.
And he won't deny it.
Google it.

I've heard the name before, but who is Glenn Beck? A Rush Limbaugh wannabe?

Luckily, I don't get Fox News so I haven't accidently caught a bit of Glenn Beck's show since his CNN Headline News days. At first I was fair and gave him a chance but he was too right wing for my liking.
I wonder how Palin thinks that she has a shot at the White House again. Her inexperience was the final blow to McCain and in 4 years she'll have nothing to add to her already weak resume. You think that the GOP would have better candidates especially to knock off a very popular current president.

That would be the only reason to endorse her. If they don't think they can, they might not want to burn a strong candidate.

That was an internet hoax. It started as a satyrical play of the type of logic that Glenn Beck would use.... basically trying to force the person he was arguing against to prove a negative. Hence, if Glenn Beck couldn't prove that he didn't rape and murder a girl in 1990 and if he didn't make an official statement of denial, then he "must have done it".
Glenn Beck tried to sue the website creator and lost.

I'd say that if she is going to keep putting herself out in the public eye, she will continue to be called out on her short-comings.
If you want to call that piling on, that's up to you, but should she just be given free reign to say anything she wants without consequence?
