Thanks- I was going to look for that link today. I have filed the complaint; I guess we will see where it goes.

4x3 = your screen format

16x9 = widescreen format

Which TV did you get? Some of the TVs are good deals, but not THAT great of a deal. Ken tried to purchase a TV that was advertise for under $400, which was suppose to be a fantastic deal, but turns out is closer to $500 when he went in, which is roughly what every electronic store is offering. Yesterday, the website flyer still said under $400 when the price had, in fact, changed. When I saw the flyer at 8:30pm, it was STILL advertising the incorrect lower price.

If that isn't false advertising, I don't know what is.

Naturally, the first thing I did was grab a tape and measure the TV. Indeed, it is 26" across the top and 19.75" high.

26/4=6.5
19.75/3=6.6

Now that I've learned something new today, I'm having a beer.

When I was about 21, I went into Soundsaround to see what they had for some speakers and a cd player for my car. I explained I had no interest in installing anything myself, so anything I was going to buy needed to be installed that day or I was not interested. The salesman convinced me to run a credit check for a loan. He sets me up with about 2 grand worth of stuff, explaining that I really needed all of this stuff.

I was a young kid transfixed with the idea of having a good stereo system and went up to sign the paperwork. Right as soon as I signed it, I turn to the sales guy and ask him if I should pull my car around back to get it all installed. He then tells me that they are not doing anymore installs that day and I would need to call back next week to see if I could get an appointment in a couple weeks. I freak and ask why he sold me this stuff when he knew I wanted it put in that day. He claims he never heard that part.

I tell him he can take his sale and shove it, and I wanted to return all my stuff so I could go someplace where I could get it installed. He then smiles and says sorry, that stuff was on sale and can only be exchanged, not returned.

My boycott has lasted for 11 years and will last for at least 30 more as far as I am concerned.

Technically it's not the physical measurement of your screen as CRTs have overscan but that the resolution of a 4:3 NTSC television is 640x480 (or 640 lines wide by 480 lines high) or 480i/p (interlaced/progressive scan).

That's why high definition is 780i/p or 1080i/p. For instance, the higher end is 1080p or 1920x1080 pixels on your screen which is a 16:9 ratio.
