Another Rush one: 2112 Overture
As well, the entire new Mastodon album, Crack the Skye, is available in instrumental form. And I like the vocal version better, but it's still pretty good when I want some instrumental metal.
I'm not sure if I'll be made fun of for my answer, but I'll share anyway:
Crockett's Theme by Jan Hammer. As a new wave fan, I'd say anything by Jan Hammer.
Only the ignorant would jest. Jan Hammer is the man.
Here's a few of my favorites. I'd mention Bitches Brew but Troutman beat me to it.
With apologies to Mike Patton, Devin Townsend, Dax Riggs, and David Bowie, my favorite music simply doesn't have singing in it. I could make a massive list here...
