Maneater(s) on 3-2 are owning my ass. I am trying not to delve into any online FAQ or anything yet. Does anyone have any tips?

Here is a tip for all that I learned the hard way. When you meet Yurt the Silent Cheif in 3-2 let him out of his cage and then kill him immediately. He drops pretty sweet armour if you have enough room to scoop it. If you let Yurt out of his cage and do not kill him he will go to the nexus and start killing NPC's. If left unchecked for a while he will kill almost everyone in the nexus.

A guy would be pretty screwed if he killed the bank keeper or Sage Freke.

So basic question, is the game worth it to pick up? For some reason I'm still on the fence mainly because Uncharted 2 is out and AC II is coming out soon.

BLAH. This is too hard for me. Can't get pass 1-2 if my life depended on it. lol.

if anyone wants to buy my deluxe edition i will sell it at cost (it is out of print(the deluxe edition that is) so this is reasonable imo) i paid like 89.98 or whatever, so 90$. includes artbook+soundtrack cd which was a preorder bonus.

Start over and Choose a Royal this time. Magic and Archery is the key to pwning this game. Magic w/a shield kicks arse.

Use a royal to start and go 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, etc.
It gets easier as you go along and build your stats/armor/magic.

I found the first couple hours the most difficult and I died seemingly a hundred times. Now I can get through most of the x-2 and x-3 levels levels without dying until I hit the boss and Ive never really had to redo levels to grind.

I guess i can try again, i mean i have fun playing the game, just gets frustrating when i don't get anywhere, lol

will the -1's be easier then 1-2 etc?

is that how the difficulty works? anything -1=easiest then -2's then -3's?

i didnt know much about this, i thought 1-1, then 1-2, then 1-3 , then 2-1..

is that not the proper progression?

cheers

If I had a PS3 I would try this game. I love hard games. Most games (especially console ones) don't offer a challenge these days aside from simply being ######ed and killing you and forcing you to restart from a stupid checkpoint (I hate checkpoint saving!).

Demon's Souls isn't checkpoint saving is it?

Hack and Lube, if you die during a level, you start from scratch, and you lose all your "souls"(Currency). The way to get back your currency is get to your Blood stain without dieing (it is where you died). If you get to your bloodstain and die, you make a new bloodstain etc.

The game pretty much autosaves every minute, so when you die you gotta start from scratch lol. You get to keep the loot, but not the currency. That's what makes it so hard. If you die on the final boss, you gotta do the whole level!

And in Fairness to the game, its not hard because you just are on a different play level, its hard because it punishes you for any mistake you make. (the good hard)

Also, every time you die the enemies become harder.
No PS3 for me yet, but this will be one of the first games I pick up for it.

The progression most people tend to be taking is 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 and then going back to 1-2 then 2-2 after 2-2 you can kind branch off in different ways. I'm just starting to tackle the 5's now (I've done all the previous levels + 1 or 2 more) as that seems to be the most difficult opening level.

A few pointers I can give that are working for me are
-Always keep your shield up.
-It's OK to rely on magic (soul arrow), especially early on.
-Don't attack an enemy if another enemy is within striking range. Roll out!!
-Lock on. Stick and move.
-Don't worry to much about item use, there are plenty of items in the game.
-Always spend all your souls in the nexus, especially early.
-This game severly punishes being cocky and will punish you for mistakes.
-You WILL die.

Is it worth buying the fire ball thing from the rookie magic dude, or is soul arrow better?

and i know what you mean about spendin your souls, i lost a good chunk due to me thinking i could safely get back
