and 25 million Canadian's rolled their eyes.. Oh wait its Hedy Fry, that woman is a mean spirited worthless piece of garbage who has sucked on Canadian tax payers for way to long.

And I look at the two logo's and I think its a huge and ridiculous reach.

I saw a piece of mold on a fridge this morning and it looked like the Liberal Party logo, can they please stop making dirty kitchens political?

As absurd as it is, realistically, the logos should be designed in a manner so they don't even somewhat resemble the logos of the major parties.

There isn't anything to it, but it's just stupid on whomever approved it's part.

So Canadian maple leafs in concert with anything circular shouldn't be used.

If Iggy (as in Ignatieff for my purposes here) came out with a Flaming 'L' reminiscent of the flaming 'C' would you share the same sentiments?

For the record, I don't think that there is anything to these rumours...but looking at the logos side by side I wouldn't exactly call that a reach either!

Just so we're clear on what we can't use in our logo to be as non-offensive as possible:
Maple leaf
Fleuf-de-lis
Blue
Red
Baby poop green
Orange
The letter C
Green
The picture of any animal (Animal Alliance Environment Voters Party of Canada)
Triangles (Libertarian Party of Canada)
Pot leaf
Beige
Circle
Check mark (Marijuana Party)

Lets just use plain grey one piece jumpsuits. I would suggest writing 'Canada' on them but the presence of that 'C' might politicize things too much.

If we lived in Laos, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania or Luxembourg I think that type of logo might make some sense...

Not when the circular part is a similar blue to the conservative blue.

There isn't anything behind it, it's just a really really stupid idea to approve that logo because you would have to assume that people are going to make a connection regardless if there is one or not.

I really doubt any Canadian made a connection until Fry the great big potato head bleated about it.

Again I think stuff like this makes the Liberal's look worse then it makes them look better.

There's nothing like politicizing the Olympic logo to make you seem like you have nothing to offer and nothing better to do.

Its petty and stupid and a waste.

It certainly doesn't make me feel like the Liberal's are standing on guard for thee.

Or maybe I chose the 'L' for the Liberals? The way people get up in arms about him being called Iggy on this board and then can't see two logos that are almost the exact same is interesting. If the CPC came out with a flaming 'C' logo tomorrow would that be OK? What if it were blue instead of red....surely no big deal, right?

Honestly I wouldn't care, its not big enough of a deal to worry about.

Wait a minute....

Ignatief is claiming that Harper could "change Canada beyond recognition"...all while sitting as the opposition to a MINORITY government??

What sort of leadership does that suggest on his part?

Thanks a lot Transplant, you owe me one coffee and one shirt, preferably red.

I'd love it if Harper came out and said that very thing.

Harper - "Hey dummy, we can't change Canada we're in a minority government, you can stop us if the NDP and Bloc think what we're doing is wrong"

Iggy - "Hi Ho Hi Ho its back to Harvard I go"

The logo (at least to me) looks far more reminiscent of the air force one I posted above than the conservative one. Should we be worried about our olympic team being mistaken for our air force? Or the air force being propagandized by the conservatives?

Ignatief should try changing his own party beyond recognition. If they actually came up with a platform people could support, he might be able to escape the embarrassment of losing in his attempts to bring down the government so that he can just lose an election.

Well if the Olympic team bombs then I would be concerned about the logo looking like an airforce logo.

NDP MP Charlie Angus called it "cheap partisan politics" by the governing Conservatives.
"If the Conservative party had nothing to do with this, then it would be suing the Olympic team for trademark infringement. This is the Conservative party logo. Anyone can see it is the Conservative party logo. It has nothing to do in the entire history of Olympic hockey," Angus said. "If Minister Lunn thinks he can go into a Tim Hortons anywhere in Canada and tell an average hockey fan that this is not the Conservative party logo, then Mr. Lunn thinks the Canadians are stupider."

Bolded for awesomeness. Stupider than.... ..... ???

And for anyone that says this is an issue, I defy you to actually go to the link and suggest again that, as Mr. Angus states, "This is the Conservative party logo."
