No, no, no. Not repent. Have a shot of tequila.

On a serious note, have a shot of single malt scotch.

This is a serious topic, there is no denying that. But there are a couple of things to consider. 1. This is the internet, so if you are looking for serious conversation it is best to look elsewhere. 2. Sometimes people cope with tragedy with humour, although I don't think that applies here.

Nothing has been made light about the tragedy itself or the loss of life. When I posted El Nino, it was in response to something someone else said. It had nothing to do with the people who are suffering.

The tragedy is not a joke, but we deal with the thought of our own mortality in different ways. I think that is why people joke here.

You have to put everything in perspective though. This is the internet. This is a site about a game. Those two things together, to me anyways, spells anything but a serious conversation.
Good post Playfair.

I am just tired of wading through the silliness in search of a real conversation. So this just becomes another thread that loses the original topic.

You are right. This is a site about a game and it is the internet so I am expecting too much. Although I am getting tired of people just saying 'it is the internet' and then accepting poor behavoir.

I would say more but then the group that jumps on people might get involved with their witty pictures and big words. lol

Precisely why I suggest a good, stiff shot. Might as well face the coming gloom fortified.

My week at work has been kinda hellish, with 4 people on vacation. Luckily 3 of them went to the Philippines, so my hell may continue a little longer...

Pretty sad however with all honesty. Feel bad for everything going on. Floods in the Philippines are terrible.

Yes, it is sad, but please try to maintain perspective.
Rather than make light of electronic age we should thank it for saying hundreds of thousands of lives. People can chose to beleive what they want but the facts show natural disasters mostly due to global warming is very much real. Studies show if Katrina and Ike happened 30 years ago they would killed at least 1,000,000,00 people.

I'm not saying your doing it but people who make light of us destroying our ancestors planet and the denial that we have pisses me off.

I guess we always have the bible thumpers who say God will save us if we pray hard enough.
