Courier always seemed to be too much of a niche product to me. I'm sure if it was released, the iPad would have crushed it.

The iPad is a pretty niche product too.

I was actually looking forward to this.

Typical, though. They have a history of dream big, deliver small.

True, but I kinda got the impression that Courier was perfect for design students and maybe journalists or something, so even more niche-y.

Ya while the iPad is certainly a niche product the Courier seemed a little over-the-top niche. I hope something comes of it though ... it was an awesome little idea. I'm sure a lot of the tablet makers are just stepping back to take a look at how things develop and rethink their strategy. Not great in that it'll let Apple run for a while longer, but good in that when they do resurface, the iPad will see some stronger competition.

I was hoping that it would be capable of performing text recognition on the notes that I wrote in it. I use a log book a LOT (I prefer writing it down with a pen) and if I was able to search that content, have an immersive contact list, allow me to share my notes directly, I would have been all over it, and I don't draw.

Just my thoughts.
