I got my license taken away for a month because of demerits when I was 17... It was pretty terrible month especially since I was pizza delivery dude at the time. After the month was up I just started driving again. 3 months later some lady hit me and I had to go to the police station to give my statement... turns out, you have to actually bring in your license and they confiscate it, then when the month is up you have to pay to get a new one. I ended up getting a ticket for driving without a license and had to pay to get a new license.

However, after that experience I stopped driving like an idiot and now have a very clean driving record. (FYI 17 was quite some site ago)

I don't think the demerit reduction course will help after they have made the decision to revoke your license. I think you are going to have accept that you won't have a license for a month.

Honestly, I would just keep driving without your license for the month. Just make sure to drive the speed limit and follow all the rules and you'll be fine.

haha, which reminds me of that simpsons episode where Homer loses his license and is in the car with Lisa.....

"Dad, you can't drive, your lisence is suspended".."Oh, well I'm going to try anyway" *turns key, car starts* "It worked! It's a miracle!".

Wow, I can't believe how harsh some people are being, show some sympathy this guy is in a terrible situation.

Anyways, I know from experience cause I just got over my one month suspension that you're screwed as soon as the letter is sent to you.

I went to a bunch of different registries trying to get out of it or just take my GDL test (Because I've been procrastinating on it for 3 years now...) and no dice. I was told that as soon as that letter is put in the mail there isn't anything you can do except wait.

You also can't take the test until you've been suspension free for a year, so you're going to have to drive carefully after you get your license back cause one more ticket and you're basically done.

Hopefully your buddies don't mind giving you rides for a month. Somebody else can drive your car if you trust them to, so that can work pretty well if you have a friend with their license but no car.

Haha, and the letter says that it's something like a $50 fee for the Registry to handle it (Typical Government...) but then they keep tacking on extra fees. By the time you're done it's closer to $100 than $50.

Good luck, keep your chin up, you'll make it through it. And it sure feels good when you get back behind the wheel.

Oh and the all important side note...if you want to drink keep in mind that you have no license...I was using my passport for a month.

Why didn't you just refuse the ticket and claim freeman-on-the-land statutes don't apply to me status?
