if samuel wanted a time traveler from the beginning, why not go after hiro first? do not really like his character. never saw prison break, so i cannot 'relate' to him.

flashback episodes are usually lame, regardless of what series. this one way just okay.
He did try to go after Hiro, when Hiro went back to the night that Ando dropped his slushie on Kimiko.

The thing with Samuel, I think, is that he's trying to just let people join his "family" of their own free will, but when they don't or when he needs them and their abilities, he resorts to doing things like he did with Charlie.

What bothered me the most about this episode was the subplot with HRG and his "partner" that we never saw and was never referred to until that episode. I always thought that The Haitian was understood to have been his partner when he was with the Company.

right, the slushie/Kimiko thing. and the free will thing. i just think a guy with such a temper to crush buildings/make sink holes would be more aggressive from the beginning. i guess he cares about ones with abilities and will crush regular humans at the slightest dislike

yes, the Bennett partner thing was LAME!

oh and good to see Ando back in an episode. even though it is sorta a flashback.

...you know for the longest time i thought the "SJ" in your name was for San Jose.

Yeah, you aren't the first one

I kinda like that Samuel seems to be a tweener. I think that with how Sylar was an uber-heel when he was first introduced, and he was really the only villain they've had (they tried with Arthur but that just sucked), they realize they can't have their baddie be just like Sylar again. To me, awesome though a psychopath killer may be, a baddie who rationalizes all of the bad things he does to the point that it actually starts making sense is a lot scarier.

I still say Parkman is making a heel-turn by the end of the season.

Can someone shed some light about the final scene? Did Samuel kill Mohinder? And why?

He killed him eight weeks ago...and you have to tune in next Monday to find out why. That's usually what the whole "to be continued..." thing usually implies

They need to stop going back to Midland/Odessa though. That is getting so old.

I dunno, it seems to me that people are picking Heroes apart mostly because of the bad reputation (somewhat unfair, in my mind) garnered by the shortened second season. I'll agree that Villains wasn't great, but Fugitives and especially Redemption (so far) have been really solid if not outstanding. I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I feel that Heroes as a whole is finally recovering from a pretty big setback that was brought about because of the strike; coming into this season, they were almost a full season behind where they wanted to be (Villains was supposed to end season 2, and then 3 was supposed to consist of Fugitives and Redemption).

See, for me, i enjoyed the first 3 seasons, ending of season 3 was pretty sweet.

But this season, i dunno, just not as interested.

Probably just me though, haha. Been spoiled by great programming such as House, lie to me, and dexter

I don't think I've seen any brothers hug as much as Peter and Nathan Petrelli do.

This season is the suck. There isn't a single story line I am compelled to watch, and it seems like, halfway through, they are all fragmented, and not going anywhere.

I was a dedicated fan, but they are losing me fast.

*bump*

So, we finally know why Samuel is trying to recruit people (or at least why he enjoys his "family" being close to him). Interesting that Joseph was protecting him; it's pretty obvious that it'll turn out to be Samuel who killed him.

I hate how every time Suresh shows up there's some stupid and pointless "revelation" about people with abilities. First it was the virus, then it was that the abilities are triggered by adrenaline, and now each special has a "force" around them? I seriously think a big reason why this season was off to such a great start was because Mohinder wasn't around. His entire character and anything he gets involved in (namely his father's research) just drags so terribly, and is easily the least entertaining aspect of Heroes ever. He should have been done in by Sylar close to the season 1 finale.

Speaking of Sylar, interesting to see what happens next. I have a feeling that Peter, when he absorbed Nathan's power, also got Sylar's, and probably now has Sylar rattling around in his head instead of Nathan. Could also lead to Peter getting his "old" ability back.

funny how Samuel went from drunken loser with no direction to the cover of GQ in a matter of 6-8 weeks.

and Peter needs to get his "old" ability back, so he can heal Hiro.

I don't know what people are talking about, I've really really enjoyed this season. All the stories seem so random and disconnected, but then they slowly start to connect after each episode.

Agreed about Mohinder, just pointless cameo's by him. But someone explain to me why Samuel is trying SO HARD to recruit so many others, without having seen the film? Now that he sees the film, he will try harder, but my question is why the agressive search up till now?

I think Peter will just pickup all of Sylar's power, but I still think Sylar is stuck in Parkman's head.
