The pineapple is Ray Comfort's nightmare. I'd like to see a video of him eating one with only his hands while simultaneously explaining how its perfectly designed for humans to eat.

Kirk Cameron must be stopped?

From exercising his right to free speech?

Right.

The only thing worse than a fundamentalist is someone who wants to stop him from being one.

bananas that fit easier into a monkeys hand would be eaten more often, thus favouring them in natural selection.

Give it up already. He has different views than you, we get it. No need to persecute him, take away his freedom of speech and religion because he believes differently.

Your hate-on is childish and sad.

Kirk Cameron does need to be stopped. Not for his religious views, but for the all-out molestation he's committed to the web design community. I cannot believe this thread has gone on this long without somebody pointing out http://www.kirkcameron.com/ (don't forget to absolutely crank your speakers).

Thor has every right to say Kurt Cameron should shut up. He's not talking governmental intervention here.

I think it's very important for educated and logical people to voice strong opposition to fundamentalists and fundamentalists. That means condemning them.

The thread title implies that he should be stopped from exercising his right to free speech, not just shut him up.

Again, there is a difference to voicing opposition(saying shutup isn't opposition)....and stopping someone from voicing their opinion.

Yeah the title was obviously tongue in cheek. I don't think anyone is calling for arrest of or violence towards Cameron.

I am. As far as I'm concerned people like him are a danger to society because stupid people listen to him and then for fundamentalist beliefs based on his BS.

I don't think we should outright kill him though. I say we shoot him and his friends into space...out of a canon.

Nuke him from space.

The only way to be sure.

Seriously though, there are a lot bigger problems to worry about than this.

I dislike this kind of statement, it implies that one can only worry about one thing at a time and that by worrying about something small that the big thing is being ignored. We should all be spending every day solving world hunger and not worrying about if our pet cat has a cold kind of thing.

I prefer that we all worry about world peace instead.

According to Danny Crane, if we all think about world peace at once, we'll solve it.

Threads like this only serve to derail that thinking process and should be banned from CP.

I also find that it only serves as an advertising outlet for atheists and agnostics that want to force their opinion on the rest of us.

If by force you mean compel through demonstrating the invalidity of all alternatives then I agree

Plus, the whole thing gets put behind the wall of religious freedom. So while I can stand beside the guy on the street and counter his flat earth claims, it is taboo in culture to counter the religious claims. You say it yourself, it's "freedom of religion". If the church wants to make claims that are within the power of science to test, then they should not be upset when they are tested. If there is freedom of religion, then there is also freedom to counter religion. But how many churches would allow someone with a varying viewpoint in to talk about a flat earth?
See my signature. Great post.

It's funny that praise is given when someone advertises on a bus that there is no such thing as God but then someone religious says something and it means they deserve condemnation? You don't agree with them, they don't agree with you, live with it. Free speech is entitled on both sides of the fence.

I find this interesting, because other people are stupid free speech becomes dangerous. But if you curtail free speech on that basis don't you also have shut down people from speaking truth as well as misleading people?

The truth is often just as dangerous as someone lying especially when trying the masses to do something.
