Del Potro finally stood up and hit some amazing forehands.
Gotta stay with it, stay there and punch Federer in the face and see what happens.

Federer wins set three 6-4 and leads 2 sets to 1 (6-3, 6-7(5-7), 6-4)!

Del Potro had him....couldn't hold up the break.

Edit: Once again Federer erases the break.

Fourth set going to a tiebreak, Federer on the verge of winning his 6th straight US Open, 3rd straight Major, and 16th overall Major.

Amazing.

Edit: or not... Down 5-2 in the 5th set.

I get that Federer has lost a couple mammoth five setters in grand slams during his career, but I think he has done enough in his career to lose a grand slam without being called a choker.

Great win for DP....that's what Roddick should have done at Wimbledon but Federer was able to stick it through.

Yup, I said Federer in 5 sets as del Potro was playing unbelievable this tournament. It's nice to see someone other then Federer win something. Congrats to del Potro. I hope next season Federer wins 2 slams and other people win 2 slams. Federer is my favorite current mens player but I like seeing when other people win things too (it's not like when Agassi was playing and I wanted him to win every match). I was hoping Roddick would win Wimbledon this year in that epic match. Federer though is a treat to watch and the BEST player of all time moon. No way in hell is Sampras better then Federer as you claim.

PS..........how did Nadal do in the US Open against del Potro?

Federer is amazing to watch even in a lose.

Most dominate athlete in his sport bar none. Just amazing looking at his stats.

I'm really disappointed Federer lost, I wanted him to finish off his year with the Open, after the great year that he did have.

I saw some wheelchair matches at Wimbledon this year; it's even crazier watching those guys play on grass!

As long as he got the French Open, it doesn't matter if he never wins a slam. Well as long as he doesn't lose to RodDICK.

Federer is the greatest tennis player ever.
