You have to complete an online game of MOUT i believe before you can play online anywhere else. It's stupid. I hated it. But its free...thats what kept me going.

I don't remember what you have to do on MOUT, but all I think I did was keep joining servers until I could join a good team that won all the time...then basically do nothing/whatever while your team wins. Then the training is completed and you can play whatever map you want.

There is specific training you have to go through to play different groups of maps...shouldn't be too hard to figure out what you need to do to play...just go through all the missions.

As for getting discouraged at first...keep trying. People can be asses because they get impatient. It does suck. But once you figure out what you need to do and how to do it through practice and watching other players once you die (the easiest way to learn good spots and tactics) you will get the hang of it and own them.

Once you are done training play Bridge Crossing. Its basically the only map I play, and I started playing it for the simple reason that it is really really easy to learn. The bridge is basically the same on both sides, only one way to go so you cannot get lost. Pretty easy to discover what you need to do to win. Other maps can be pretty convoluted and take some getting to know.

Don't get discouraged though! It is a good game once you get through all the crap. Beats spending however much $$$ for bf1942 or something else...imo at least.

Well, I finished all my training and tried playing online.... I am really dissapointed. Immediately they started a vote to kick me, because I was "idle". Right, walking around trying to find someone to shoot is being idle.

I keep getting shot by people I cannot see, because my view distance is too low. No one wants to help out the noob, and get mad at me when I don't know what to do. It's a real turnoff. And waiting for long periods of time to play again after you die. ARGH... that's why I don't play counterstrike. Nothing like playing for 30 seconds, then waiting 5 minutes. Perhaps I'll play again, but who knows. Right now it feels I wasted a lot of time training.

I'll take BF42 anyday over this.
Couldnt agree more. I had the same experience.

Any game where you have to sit idle waiting to get back into the action for 5mins+ is a waste of time.

Too bad, it looked like it could have been fun. Get what you pay for I guess.

Well for MOUT, I didn't have to do it online. I think the problem is you have to download the patch. 2.2.1 I guess there is a bug in the earlire version. That may be your problem, if not just make sure you see the cardboard enemies slide down and E is to open.

As for waiting, I don't mind it. Usually it doesn't take five minutes. While waiting I just watch the other players to try to mimic thier style of play or see what things I should be doing. This game is basically like SOCOM but free.

The wait after you die part of the game might not appeal to people who like BF1942/UT and that sort of game. Took me a while to adjust to it...but I usually just minimize it and read CP.

Either that or play with people you know and like, and you can talk to them after you die, or watch them play and make fun of them if they look bad! Waitings not for everyone...but its free and I don't mind
