Got around to see this tonight. Lived up to the hype. The first scene was brilliant. Really capture the emotion and suspension in that scene. Perfect acting. The Jew catcher guy defiantly pulled off his character well.

It was everything I expected. I'm pleased.

It was an excellent movie. Totally agree with everyone about the first scene, you really couldn't ask for more.

One thing my buddy noticed, and I'm just curious as to how many other people caught this, but did anyone notice what happens when they would say oui in French? The subtitles would spell it in French like oui as opposed to English....just one of those things that totally got by me but my friend caught, typical of QT though.

I saw a lot of switching back and forth, actually. Sometimes the subtitles would say "Merci" or "Oui" and sometimes they'd say "Thank you" or "yes" depending on who was speaking.

I noticed that as well. I also like how there wasn't much music playing when the actors were talking. I found the silence in the background really helped build the suspense.
