Way to go, Spurs! Huge win today. Could've been a blowout by haftime if not for some solid work by Reina. On another note, Torres has to play with one of the biggest vaginas I've ever seen. What a baby.

Don't let Locke read that. He thinks Torres is the most honest player to grace the pitch, and Manchester United are the babies. In other news, Rafa blames the officiating, Shocking. Also no surprise to see Gerrard play even though he was "injured".

Obviously a great first weekend in my eyes. Way to go Spurs!

What a result by Arsenal too, dominating stuff.

How can Rafa blame the refs? Liverpool got a penalty.

Should have been 5-1.

In the final few minutes there was a slight, incidental bump in the box, on a ball that Liverpool wouldn't have been able to play anyways. But you're right, Keane could've easily had two in the first half, and Lennon barely missed as well.

Torres was diving all over the pitch yesterday. That bit between him and Huddlestone was pathetic and would've put Alex Burrows to shame.

I don't know what you were watching, but the exchange between the two didn't really make sense. Torres didn't take a dive there (one of the only times he didn't on the day) He collided then Huddlestone stood over him and said something to him.

I agree with what most people are saying here about it. Spurs definitely deserved the win. Keane should have potted at least one. Reina played really well for us to keep us in it, but we were outplayed for 3/4 of the game.

The non penalty at the end was wrong though. It definitely wasn't incidental contact. He ran directly at him, making no attempt to play the ball, just to knock him down.Definite penalty. Even the Anti-liverpool announcers agreed which is huge

The handball was the right non call..

Rafa is Rafa and love him or hate him you knew when Liverpool couldn't tie it, he would be fuming about the non call. That's the way he is

I don't understand how guys like United can make comments about Rafa given their manager. Wasn't it him that was just complaining about the refs two weeks ago in the Community Shield and the non call on Ballack? Both are the same way. They admit when the other side is better, but do criticize if they don't get their own way.

As for Torres, I 100% agree he goes to ground way to easilty (see my post in teh Liverpool thread). It's really frustrating as a Reds fan to see this all the time

I'm more directing that at Locke than being serious. He always goes out of his way when Sir Alex does it so for once I thought I would point out that Rafa did it. I really don't care and would expect him too.

Torres was being a baby yesterday, no argument there from me, but thats not the norm for him. When he does go native he does it in a big way, I'll admit that.

As for Rafa's complaints in regards to non-calls is standard managerial stuff. He knows as well as anyone that you can't count on officiating.

I was really disappointed in Torres against Spurs. IMO he is one of the best strikers in the world so why he resorted to that BS is beyond me. I was a heavy criticizer of Ronaldo for the same antics so I'm not going to defend Torres for doing the same thing.

Rafa is Rafa. He was always going to complain about the non call on Voronin. That could easily have been given. It wasn't incidental contact at all. That said, Spurs completely deserved their win. Liverpool were crap, quite honestly. Reina was the only reason it was close.

Nice win for Wolves today at Wigan.. unfortunately Sunderland couldn't follow up a decent first half against Chelsea and we got pretty much destroyed in the second half.. oh well 2 goals in 2 games for much-ridiculed (on this board) Darren Bent. Bring on Blackburn!

....
I can't be certain but it appeared to me that Torres leg locked somebody when he was on the ground. I believe the look down and the words were in relation to that. Can't find a video though.

Maybe I missed that part. I was focused on him looking down and yelling and I was thinking, he didn't even do anything that time!

Interesting results today.

Birmingham 1 - 0 Portsmouth (90th minute penalty)
Burnley 1 - 0 Manure! (Carrick missed a penalty at the end of the first half)
Hull 1 - 5 Spurs!
Liverpool 3 - 0 Stoke (still a few minutes left)

Watching the first two Man U matches they really really miss Ronaldo. There's nobody there who can score now!

Burmingham 1 - 0 Portsmouth
Burnley 1 - 0 Manchester United
Tottenham 5 - 0 Hull City
Liverpool 4 - 0 Stoke

Embarrassing, inexcusable, pathetic. Not only to lose but to not score. Jensen, the keeper, is clearly man of the match, but you have to score against Burnley no matter how well their keeper plays. Got the poor match of the season out of the way early!
