I like the 3 of them, especially David Grohl since he's so capable on many instruments and a frontman as well and has such varied music styles and tastes but the collaboration is not my style of music. Sounds generic and boring. Droning chords, repetitive bass, no real melody. Guess it's not my cup of tea.

Well, thanks to those videos I now know I'm epileptic.

Guitar sounds a bit too grungy for my liking. Not sure if grungy is the right word.

Not too bad, though.

A new single is set to come out this monday october 26th, titled 'New Fang'. Should be sick.

Also, the album has a release date: November 17th. Cannot wait for this album. Pre-order here: http://store.themcrookedvultures.com/

I was worried about the vocal melody too. I tend to tune Homme out sometimes because his songs don't tend to be melodic...but I just listened to "New Fang" and there's some cool vocal melody on that song. I am impressed. Drum intro sounds like Bonham.

I feel like I'm the only guy who cares about this band since I have like 50% of the posts in this thread, but yet another bump full of good news:

Couple new clips have been released,

first this funkadelic awesome clip: http://www.antiquiet.com/news/2009/1...ltures-gunman/

And then this which is one of my favourite things i've heard of theirs so far:

I think most people aren't really that interested (yet) cause all these clips and live videos are such a tease. Once they release an actual full song, I'll start caring. But everytime I open this thread its a giant tease and its a piss off to only hear a minute of a song.

I'm actually pretty disappointed in what I've heard from them so far. They sound painfully generic given their talents.

I wish Mike Patton had joined them as I feel he would have pushed them in some interesting directions.

I saw them about a month ago. Nothing special. They aren't bad, but they aren't amazing. John Paul Jones just isn't very good from what I have seen.

That track with Grohl on backup vocals was awesome. This album can't come soon enough.

I'm pretty excited to hear the album. I downloaded a bootleg show the other day (Rock en Seine), and I think they sounds pretty good. It's not a huge departure from Queens of the Stone Age, and I'm ok with that

If you hadn't posted in this thread, I might not have heard of them, and if I hadn't heard of them I wouldn't have gone back and re-listened to my QOTSA stuff, and if I hadn't done that I wouldn't be busy learning a bunch of QOTSA stuff on guitar in eager anticipation of TCV.

So there!

Even Dave Grohl can't save Queens of the Stone Age.

I'm really looking forward to this. A quality rock group with some serious blues riffs scattered in between. Can't miss in my opinion.

Full album is also available for pre-order on iTunes.

If anyone is interested, I have a pretty nicely shot amateur vid of a live TCV show. I applied image stablization in iMovie, and exported it to an iPod Touch sized video, and the results are pretty good. I can post a link if people want.
