Ok, I gotcha, well, from my experience those who work 9 - 5 and complain about those who work construction can be pretty self righteous as well. Oh my lord, I'm kidding, but that was funny.
I think this is just what you and we all get from living in the city. We have to accommodate others when it bugs ourselves. We have the right to moan about it and that's about it.

Anyways, clearly I was irritated that I got woken up early and just wanted to rant. I guess I'm the one being unreasonable here, thinking I should be able to sleep until I have to wake up for work.

Then be glad you don't do shift work.

That was the first thing I thought about. My room-mate used to be a tow truck driver and he would have night shifts... he would have had a friggin stroke if he was still doing that and heard it.

I hear what you're saying, and I agree their within their rights etc etc, but I think a little courtesy would be appreciated. Like, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Have you considered that they're probably paying in the region of ~$400/day for the backhoe and operator?

TBQH, I don't really see how that's relevant to me.

While I don't see the problem as the noise bylaw was respected. What does it matter for 400 bucks matter if they back hoe works 7-330 or 9-530?

what were they thinking, they really should have started with something much more quiet like the roofing or window installation. who needs a foundation, floors, walls and roof before those anyway.
your ignorance is astounding.

Obviously they need a foundation, but starting at 7am is annoying as hell. Can't a guy friggin sleep? Jebus.
And hey, I like to complain OK? It makes me feel better when I vent my frustrations. Just because I post a thread, doesnt mean you have to reply to it, hahaha.

I think this is a direct quote from that last thread you wrote on. Yes, you like to complain and incessantly repeat your complaint over and over. We're just trying to show you the other side of the coin, that's all. But the relevance to you is nothing, so it's pointless for any of us to get into a discussion when your just complaining.
You'll notice that many people agreed 7am is early, but necessary. You should take that as support and stop being so defensive about your one complaint over and over and over!

And maybe you should let the thread drop, instead of condemning ATR.

Haha, I just point out what people have missed. When people fail to read and make their inflamitory rebuttles, that's when I remind them of what I was actually saying. It keeps the day ticking along, you know? You seem pretty engaged here though... are you the backhoe driver?

Perhaps CP should start a "Complaint Thread" to encompass these types of threads?

It's only suitable that I would start it though. That would add officialness to it.

That's my point. It's not.
You can't expect someone to pay for an idle machine so as you can have your sleep.

What about 7-5:30?
It matters a lot if he has to get it out for a second day or to the backhoe company that are working to a schedule ...
...... or to the concrete trucks that will be honking their horns tomorrow am at 07:01 because they've no foundations to pour into.
Then the framers with their nail guns popping all over the place next week.
Don't worry ATR once the roofers and their ghetto blasters are done things should quieten down a bit.

This is a very easy to solve problem. Simply keep your neighbours up at night with very loud sexy noises.
