31-23 in the 4th quarter. How is it possible that Winnipeg is only behind by 8? Our defense has been bad tonight and the offense with the exception of that one TD hasn't been that good either.

Come on Burris... give the ball to Reynolds!!

How many penalties will this continue to take? Week after week they just continue to take penalties.

Stamps can't do anything right this half. Other than one throw for a TD they've done almost nothing. And now they're losing their composure.

Meh, so the Bombers didn't do as terrible as it was looking.

They're still gonna lose though.

Too close considering how the first half went. The Stamps really need to figure out their run defence.

Stamps win but not very convincing. Too many question marks. Offence, defence, penalties, 60 minutes, etc.... Stamps were lucky Winnipeg did almost nothing for 25 minutes.

That was a loss to any other team in the league except maybe Toronto. I'm starting to wonder if this team has what it takes to be better than mediocre - two straight weeks they play teams which they should absolutely destroy, and they don't look any better than their opponents.

Discipline is becoming a huge problem again as well. Poor, poor penalties (although the refs were seeing some phantoms as well) and then it's always the tired old, "Who? Me? No way!" routine. Browner, for one, has to tone it down as I can't remember the last game he DIDN'T take a pass interference or illegal contact penalty.

I am still trying to figure out what the heck happenned tonight. The Stamps dominated the first half giving up 69 yards in total offense. Offense started off well but could be better. Defense played well in the first half then all heck broke loose in the 2nd half. Burris used the short passes to Lewis, Copeland and Reynolds. Reynolds were also involved a lot in the first half. Calgary missed a few chances in scoring touchdown and settled for field goals instead. Huge play before the end of the half by Burris and Lewis. They were 2nd down and 22 yards to go close to their end zone. If that play didn't materialized they could have given up a safety to Winnipeg. Winnipeg blew another chance before the end of the first half by running out of time instead of kicking a field goal.

2nd half starts and our run defense dissappeared. It is a coincidnce that Bombers run were so successful after Labinjo went down with the injuries. Calgary's run defense were brutal. They can't tackle and Fred Reid and the other guy were just running all over them. Bishop started mixing up the plays with running and passing. Penalties were also killing the Stamps on this game. Most of them are discipline problems but most of the penalties that really help Bombers score are just plain brutal calls buy the referee. For some reason, they decided to throw the flags for the heck of it. Milton Collins getting called for pass interference when he wasn't even close to the guy until the ball passed by the receiver (he gave him a licking). Dwight Anderson's pass interference was another phantom call by the ref.

Burris didn't have a good night. He almost blew the game with his INT pass late in the game. Thank god for Lysack's INT. Burris was having problem throwing the ball to the receivers. Some of them are way over the receivers. Maybe because Winnipeg's defense were pressuiring him all night? Kind of strange to see the Stamps sort of abandoned the run in the 2nd half. Anyways, it looks like Burris confidence is not that good again early this season. He has to pick up his game soon because we don't play Winnipeg all the time.

In summation: Offense struggled including the OLines in the 2nd half. No more excuses in missing Rambo.
Defense needs to improve their run defense. Tonight I can see Jojuan Armour laughing. Our LBs were good in the first half but sort of dissappeared in the 2nd. Carpenter is the only LB who play well. Way too many bad tacklings by both LB and DBs. I have to say this is the game that Stamps players should forget. If it wasn't for the Bombers bad offense in the first half, the Stamps might have lose this game.

Next game against the Eskimos.

Well I had to miss the 2nd half of this one but from reading the thread it sounded like the 2nd half was disastrous! Hopefully Labinjo is ok, important win for the Stamps since most teams in the West have been sucking they are right there fighting for the division.

While i'm not excusing how the Stamps played, lets give Winnipeg some credit here. I think Winnipeg with Bishop is a much better team than peple give them credit for. Their D you could argue is the best in the league, and with Bishop at quarterback he forces defences to play a certain way. Not like Lefors when you could do whatever you want. You have to adjust your defence to Bishop which opens up run lanes becuase you want your ends sweeping wide and forcing Bishiop to stop up and make throws and not improvise. So I disagree that the Stamps should have stomped all over Winnipeg. If lefors was in I would agree, but not with Bishop.
having said that, Stamps were great until the 2nd half. Very good first half and really all you could say that was bad was settling for a couple of field goals instead of touchdowns. They get even 1 more touchdown its a different game. But in the 2nd half it was all about the trenches. Stamps lost both games in the trenches. They might want to look at replacing Jessie Newman who got aboslutly killed by Doug Brown all night and has been pretty bad the whole year IMO. Their run defence again can't seem to shed blocks and plug gaps. Bombers O line made the stamps D line look foolish.
Lots to fix. I'd be hard pressed right now to call the Stamps a top 3 team in the league.
