Yeah, I've never seen it this bad before. If the poster above is right about this lasting until September... this could be trouble. If a lot of small towns and pumps around town are out of gas, imagine another month.
It's a conspiracy! They want scare us in buying hybrids!! haha.

None of this makes sense.... as last time more than one refinery was down, the shortage was miniscule (and prices went up). Someone has really dropped the ball here. Why aren't prices going up to curb demand?

Lethbridge could be completely out of gas by Monday? wow
|
Shortages are happening because refineries were down for a short period of time. Add to the fact we are into peak driving season and everyone is panicking by filling up thier gas tanks.
Prices aren't going up because this is a local shortage and not a nationwide.

But this has happened before with an even larger decrease in production (ie more than just one refinery). Prices are always local to the area... nationwide has nothing to do with this.

But you didn't have the panic buying like we are seeing now. The news is out that stations are running dry so everyone rushes out to top up thier tanks regardless of how full thier tanks may be.. That in itself makes the shortages worse than they really should be.

Felt bad for the 7-Eleven by my place. They were out of gas, AND the slurpee machines weren't working. That's like 95% of their business...

The word around our small town is High River will be bone dry come Monday. The last station with any gas (Extra Foods) expects to be out of gas by the end of the day.

Anyone know if diesel is scarce? I'm driving back from Salmon Arm tomorrow and I'll be rolling into town with less than a 1/4 tank.

Shell In Kensington only has "bronze" right now.
Update - no gas at all now.

I'm so glad I don't need a vehicle for my lifestyle. My brother and my dad are both laughing, because they've had no problem getting diesel for their Jetta's

Is it only petrocan (and gas stations that are from the same refinery) that are out of gas? Esso seems to have lots of gas left.

I read in the papers that Diesel has no problems at all. They also said the gas is there, just back logged trying to get them to all the gas stations.

It looks like the Erinwoods 7-Eleven is out of gas now. Drove by there, and they didn't have a price for gas, so I just assumed they were out as well.
Good thing I filled up on Saturday.
