By "full", I think it was assumed you'd edit your email address.

Yeah... I was about to delete it but I don't really care. If someone really wanted to email me can't they do so in the drop-down menu in my name?

I did take it off though.

I said, in reply to our RV issue, why didn't the guy just say, "Gotta sell at any price, I'm in debt" or something simple to not raise red flags? It's frustrating when your looking for a deal. I think there's people out there that are just trying to unload their stuff for a quick buck? I guess I'm the target sucker they are looking for, they caught me twice. I emailed the last guy 6 - 7 times, asking him if he trades email stories with his buddies to scam people out of money, and also advised that he changes said story to actually succeed at ripping people off. Funny enough, I never got a response.

Anytime I read about an online scam I'm always reminded of the complete awesomeness of the P-P-P-Powerbook operation.

I've been round here long enough, should have put that in green. They aren't stupid, they are just waiting for someone who is.

Also keep in mind the geekiness/ Internet savy of the CP community. The scammers likely don't think people like us will fall for it, but people like our parents.

If you can respond to 1000 emails in a week and get just one out of that 1000 to fall for it, then that's a decent wage for the week.

I've been in the market for a car and ive noticed loads of these ads on autotrader. Just some ridiculous "deals" on there. How can they allow so many BS ads on their website? Shouldn't they be removing them in order to protect their credibility?

Ive switched to browsing the car ads on craigslist more now.

The used car business has always been sketchy... now they're just using the internet to bring it down even further.

I remember looking for a used car in flyers and then going to the lots only to find that they didn't have the cars from the flyer in their lot (and probably never did).

The best used cars I have ever purchased have been ones that the owner really didn't want to sell and didn't bother trying too hard to sell it. If someone is almost begging you to buy something, the chances are, it's not worth it.

192.168.*.* is a reserved IP range for private networks and stuff, it's not a real IP on the Internet. 99% of people with routers at home probably have an IP address starting with 192.168.

I came here to post exactly that link. That was the greatest case of scam baiting in recorded human history!

It is a scam. There was a Nissan 350Z up the other day for $4500 with 28000km on it.

My dad saw a boat brand new for $4500 from Quebec, the Nissan was from Halifax.

IT IS A SCAM. They want you to send the money, then they ship the vehicle (they don't).
