Calls you up and asks you to take it for a test drive. You find it's not fixed and you have to come back later when it's done. That would be a waste of my valuable time. Call me when you actually have it fixed.

Mechanics do have it hard though he tested it on one of those computers and the code was for a random misfire. Can't really complain because another emchanic i took it to told me it was my idle air control sensor and that would have costed me about 800 dollars for that alone.
I take it then your check engine light came on and he used his hand held scanner to check for trouble codes?

If you want it done right, for a fair and honest price, first time:

Ray's Auto Service

2-2020 35 Avenue Ne
Calgary, AB T2E 6W4, Canada
(403) 291-9228

To put it in perspective, a good friend of mine took her 95 Cavalier into Midas for break work, and they tried to quote her $800 for new hoses, calipers, bearings, rotors, etc etc etc...

So she takes it to Ray. $180 later she is back on the road and everything it just fine.

He is honest, will not lie, and will not replace parts that don't need it just to juice extra money.

Depends on where the dam thing is located. On some vehicles its located right above the gas tank. The filter is cheap but the labor to get at it isn't.

Thanks man. I actually found another highly recommended mechanic too, but I have to say it's re-assuring to know CP has my back.

We should have a "Members Recommended Business's" section here, with different threads.... ie Auto Repair, Home Renovators, Movers, etc.
Information like this is gold. Thanks.

How about a "Calgary's Best Business Draft?"
