Interesting.....but a little far fetched, IMO.
Far fetched indeed. WTF does Eddie George know? He doesn't want to accept that his buddy made several bad decisions and ultimately was knocked off by a scorned woman. I hope the police are thorough in their investigation (as I'm sure they will be with the publicity), but it seems pretty clear cut to me.

How the hell would Eddie George have info to suggest that?

That's what I figured. Whenever something crazy happens there is always a long line of family, friends and neighbors that will tell everyone that the person isn't capable of these decisions or actions.

Kazemi had powder residue on her hands, stopped short of confirming murder-suicide: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4313821

edit: Now confirming murder-suicide.

Confirmed:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/0..._n_228018.html

Former NFL star Steve McNair was shot dead in his sleep last week by a 20-year-old girlfriend distraught about mounting financial problems and her belief that he was seeing someone else, police said Wednesday.

So it was basically this...

Guy gets married to college sweetie.

Guy becomes Rich and Famous.

Guy decides that college sweetie isnt as hot as other muffin he could get on the side. With Divorce courts so "biased" against men he doesnt want to divorce and give up 1/2 his monry so he cheats.

Guy shacks up with 1+ women. Attracts them with his fame and money - uses the money to buy them off and then breaks up with them

Guy shacks up with mildly attractive woman who turns out to be a little "clingy"

Guy decides this clingy chick is bat-shat crazy and tries to buy her off and break off the relationship.

Guy gets in the head while sleeping on the couch. Then gets shot agin twice in the chest, then once again in the head before bat-shat crazy chick sits next to him on the couch and shoots herself in the temple.

I would say its a sensational story if I had never heard it before. The 3 gunshots after he was likely dead adds a bit of a juicy angly but still. Not really anything that we havent heard about before.

How cliche.

Eddie George appears to be switching his story from "there has to be more to this. It looks like a professional job" to "McNair may have been searching for something after football to fill a void in his life" (paraphrasing).

Shut up Eddie. McNair died because of some idiotic choices. Stop trying to propose theories that distract from that fact. It sucks he dead and all that... but it's not a tragedy... far from it.

One would think that it would be hard for him to keep his extramarital affairs from his wife. Nashville isn't that big of a town and her late husband was a very high profile person in that community. Maybe she chose to look the other way. Or maybe she is really naive. Hard for any of us to say.

I know my wife would be pretty suspicious if I was out all night on the Friday of a long weekend when she was at home with the kids.

Well to be fair, nobody has wanted to talk to Eddie in a while so this is big for him.

I disagree about this not being a tragedy though. I don't see an affair as the type of bad choice that makes you a target for murder, sorry but that's just illogical.

I agree. Poor decision by McNair, but he is hardly the first person to have an affair with a younger woman. Personally I don't think that makes him a bad person. We don't know what things were like in his marriage. Maybe his wife and him were basically living seperate lives and staying together for the kids sake. Who knows. As a father myself, I don't understand how one could be out late on the eve of a major holiday while his kids are at home. Makes me wonder how good of a father he actually was.

I'm not saying it was deserved, but a tragedy? I don't think so.

Let's not get into the definition of a tragedy though. I think I'm completely burnt out after reading the 3 Michael Jackson threads.

Okay, but at least we can agree that losing Billy Mays was a tragic blow to the world of 'being aggressively convinced to purchase things you don't need/want'. That one's a no brainer.
