Is Ceili's still there? I thought that building got ripped down? Relocated?

I predict this webshow will do well. Mildly attractive women + boob jobs + acting sluttyer gets you better tips + skimpy clothes is always a revenue generator.

I wish this show was filmed a few years ago ... then they maybe could have been an episode where my buddy was slashed with a box cutter by one of the bouncers.
F cowboys.

I found the women at the Cowboys in Edmonton to be far more attractive and less "this boob job makes me look hot cause you arent looking at my face". Just IMO of course.

Im not saying all girls who work at bars/pubs/clubs/restaurants are skanks, but majority are, if not that at the very least attention whores. Just about any girl who is in this industry (where lets dont lie, its superficial and based so much on looks/body), that girls are willing to do just about anything to move up.

I had some friends who went to Coyote's for a stag a few years ago. They still talk about how great it was, so the potential is there for a good time.

Let's form a CP group to go and check out Cowboys. Too many people haven't gone, and I think we could really pull off an awesome buzz kill for all the tramps and guidos there!

Great bar and Calgary landmark. Looking forward to spending some time there during Stampede. I will PVR this show.

That's really scary. I've heard a few too many stories like that about Cowboys to have any interest in going anymore. 6 years ago when I used to go once in awhile it was either not as bad or I was just way to naive* to notice all the seedy stuff going down.

Move up where? Are there other great careers at the bar besides waitress?

I don't know about that. Where's up? A girl that works at a bar can really only go four places: waitress, bartender, shooter girl, beer tub. I bet that they all have their advantages and disadvantages, so none of the four are really considered better. Maybe bartender.
I personally see nothing wrong with a hot woman using her features to make good money. Squeeze those titties into the smallest shirt you have, and I'll give you a big tip. Hey, I'm a guy. I'm just telling the truth.
Girls know this and they capitalize on it. Rightfully so. Men capitalize on their bodies all the time. All kinds of construction and trades are dominated by men. You're not gonna see a woman framer.
So what makes a girl a skank for showing off what she's got? She's making good money, and I get to look at her ass for a couple minutes while buying a beer. Afterall, we're all at the bar for the same reason, to pregame before sex.

I think with Cowboys, it is exactly what you'd expect it to be. A trashy bar with trashy staff, full of people getting wasted and dancing to cheesy music. I don't think anyone claims for it to be some high end place, so there really shouldn't be any misconceptions.
If you're into that scene, thats fine. If you're not, don't go. Simple as that.
I used to go from time to time when I was like, 17 and 18, and would generally have a decent time. However I haven't been in years (oh wait, except once during Stampede but that doesn't count ) and don't really intend on going any time soon.
Oh yeah, and the fact that there's a Cowboys show? Wtf!

There's definitely more hip venues out there. While Amsterdam Rhino and Broken City seem to be running their course, you can never go wrong with venues like Hi-Fi, the Marquee Room, Bamboo, or The Drum and Monkey. Damn, I also miss The Night Gallery.
I find they're not to trashy, and not to anti-trashy. These venues just don't care who shows up and it's all good.

I have only been to Cowboys during Stampede, all my soccer team gets dolled up and goes wild, its all about what you make of it.
I wouldn't ever go to Cowboys normally, but if I just treated it like a gathering place to get wasted and check out tits, well it was a pretty fun time. Most of the girls had the shooter girls pouring us shots, and lots of free drinks were given too.

My biggest problem with Cowbows is that there seem to be a lot of people that don't think it is trashy. Whenever celebs come to town they always go to Cowboys and I don't get it. Why would someone who is used to posh nightclubs want to go to one of the dirtiest places in town? I don't get it.
I don't think a lot of people know it is trashy or plays cheesy music, they actually think Cowboys is the place to be in Calgary.
Cowboys is easily the most famous nightclub in Calgary. It is known to a fair number of people in Canada as Calgary's preeminent night spot when in reality it isn't. It is a dump.
I should add that my views don't prevent people from having fun there. Anyone can have fun, it is all what you make of it. Like I said earlier I frequent the two Rips pubs in Calgary and they are both dumps, but they are fun trashy places. Cowboys has a posh LA/Vegas nightclub attitude and have somehow convinced people they are serious, when in reality it is at least as dirty as the Back Alley.

Thats true, I just dont think its fair to call them all "whores" in the actual sense of the word. Attention whores of course, you arent in that line of work becuase you are conservative or like to fly under the radar. And being attention whores often gets them better tips so its kind of part of the job description.

Its pretty unfortunate that Cowboys is considered the most famous club in Calgary, I agree with you there. But it probably has that status because there aren't really any clubs that give it a run for its money. I don't think Calgary has much of a "clubbing" scene at all really.
As for the people who don't think its trashy... who are they kidding? Its trashy. If people are into that kind of place, thats fine, but there's no denying its not the classiest of places.

I've been to the new cowboys once and it was at 130am so I was only there for half an hour. I can't base an opinion on it, but I used to love the old Cowboys

There really isn't a clubbing scene, I agree. Calgary is definitely much more a "pub" town. Lots and lots of good pub options. But basically no club options for those over the age of 19-20.
