Gotta say that course was in amazing shape considering the weather we've had out here over the last few weeks. The spectator areas were largely muddy swamps, how they managed to keep the actual course together is incredible.
I don't know if Barnes has the head to claim it, he looked really confident when I saw him on 11 and 12 today, even after bad shots, but he fell apart at the end. I like Mickelson's chances, he's looked solid and his focus is obviously where it needs to be. Weir wasn't on his game today and he's still right in the mix, if he pulls it together tomorrow he'll be there at the end. And despite his putting Tiger is still lurking, if the leaders drop strokes he's going to be in the mix.

Ricky Barnes is going to choke big time tomorrow. You could see his game unraveling late in the third and into the final round. Mentaly he seems to have lost focus. He should be playing conservatively and taking few risks. Par 70 golf would probably win it for him.

Weir and Tiger didn't have their putter working for them today. Too many putts just missing the hole.

That seemed to be happening to a lot of guys today. The greens seemed very hard to read, I spent the first couple hours at the 16th green and nobody seemed to be able to make a good read. I wouldn't expect it to get much better tomorrow, which is going to make it hard for anyone to pick up a lot of strokes. If anyone can go 65-66 they'll take it, but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

So Weir as per usual crumbles. I doubt he does anything on Monday but slide back farther. Phil is close enough to pounce if Barnes falls off the deep end which I'm betting he will. Glover might as well. Could be some drama on the last day.

I'm so happy to have tomorrow off to watch this. I am going to PVR the last round, play a round myself and come back and enjoy!
Maybe we can see a tie so can see another 18 on Tuesday

Rick Reilly's best excuse for skipping work today:
Have to attend court on charges of assaulting my old boss for not letting me watch last years Monday round.

What's the crowd like in general at those things?
Are there certain holes close to the refreshments that are more inebriated than others? Just appears from the TV that there are some galleries more boisterous than others. Are there a good few drunk people or are people that go to golf event generally very enthusiastic about their support?

Weir cans one for birty from the bunker, back in it with Barnes and Glover starting to struggle.
Now stop missing the 5 foot putts.

I'd hardly call a 74 at the US Open crumbling. There are only 5 players who haven't been in the black through 3 rounds.

You haven't watched much Weir in his career have you? That's what made the Masters win so special. He hung in there and everything else(other players efforts) just fell into place. How many times has he had me thinking hey he could win this, hey don't screw this up, hey well I guess it's not a bad finish. I'd be pleased with him if he just played an even par round today but I'm starting to think it was just a one and done.
Or we could just hope for a total Glover/Barnes collapse as they both shoot themselves in the foot. Although Glover so far looks steady. Somebody has to put some pressure on him. The pressure of just being in the fourth round looks like enough to do Barnes in.

Just, in, tv. Those are three words I like. Can't give you hints about online sites though.

Yeah Barnes is done. Have a feeling Phil might win this at -3.

Heck Tiger could still win it. He grabs another couple of birdies and watch them all choke bigtime.

The meltdown is in progress! Barnes is -3 after 8 holes.
Glover has a 2 stroke lead at -5.
Woods goes -1 with a birdie putt on 14 - 4 holes to go.
Should be an exciting finish!

74 is definitely not 'crumbling' on this course. It's not a great score, but if you look at the board it's far from terrible. If you miss one shot wide here you drop 2 strokes, Weir did that a couple times yesterday and that cost him.
