If you think the "NOW" belongs in this sentence:
"If you were prime minister now, what would you have done about the economy"
Then I have to question YOUR language skills. In, presumably, your FIRST language. The time indicator given ("NOW") does not match the tense of the sentence. Which is obviously what threw Dion because when he asked to stop and clarify, he asked if the question was about what he would do NOW or what he would have done a year ago.
And yes, I think Steve Murphy is a tool and was trying to make a name for himself. I stopped watching "Live at Five" when Dave Wright retired. Nancy Regan was okay, but Steve is a tool.
