Has this been reported yet? I haven't seen any reports that the driver was drunk - that was my first reaction but I haven't seen it mentioned in any of the reports I've listened to.

The minivan's driver fled the scene and was later arrested, Brower said. Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, of Riverside will face charges of manslaughter, felony driving under the influence and hit-and-run, he said.

I think Vin Scully said it best today. "Don't bother trying to figure life oute". Sad news for sure, kind of surreal.

I know you're all fixed on the Flames game but earlier I switched over to the Angels game and that was the saddest, quietest moment of silence I've ever seen. I'm not supposed to get depressed watching baseball. Very surreal.

^^ Very very sad. Watched him pitch against the A's and then hear that horrific news the morning after. Absolutely devastating and you got to feel for the family, his Dad was in attendance that night as well. That type of stuff just makes you put your own life in perspective and you never know when your time is. 22 years old with his whole life ahead of him. That drunk driver should never be allowed to see the light of day again.

The a-hole was 3 times over the limit and driving with a suspended license from a previous DUI. Enjoy prison

Legendary Phillies Announcer Dies

He was also one of the voices of NFL Films.

Baseball really needs a re-do for 2009. Awful.

According to TSN Wakefield has a no hitting going in the 8th against Oakland. Of course we're living in the dark ages so I can't watch it. /rage

MLB.tv is still free I think.

Very strange today seeing every ball player wear 42!

I retract my rage. I found it, uh, somewhere else.

The 42s are for Jackie Robinson day

Ah there you go. See what happens when you mention a no-hitter?

The 42s are very cool, just weird that EVERYONE's wearing it. Can you imagine a hockey game like that?

That one is on me for sure. My bad.

Editadd: I didn't mention the shutout. Someone else can take blame for that.

A great and sobering read on the time line just prior to Nick Adenhart's passing.

Congrats to Gary Sheffield. Got his 500th Career HR last night. Great to see not only as a Mets fan cause he tied the game but after getting cut by the Tigers, he comes back to New York and gets the Milestone. Here's to many more...
