Not a speed-trap, but I've constantly seen the cops enforce the car pool lane on Centre Street SB going into downtown in the morning. $150 ticket from what I've been told.

Good. That the kind of traffic enforcement the city needs. Stop dinging us for going a little over the limit. Ticket the jerks that abuse HOV lanes and the jerks that hold up traffic trying to turn left over a double solid.

New one for anyone that travels the new Ring Road in between Sarcee Trail and Harvest Hills BLVD. Alberta Sheriff's everywhere, sometimes at multiple interchanges at the same time in both marked and unmarked cars.

I like this level of enforcement because street racers used to use the stretch between Country Hills and Sarcee to race late at night and I would imagine the more recently opened stretch could develop the same problem also. There are also plenty of joyriding idiots who see three wide lanes with minimal traffic and cannot help themselves from going 200 km/h to test out the new road.

I can handle the Sheriffs targeting the kinds of people mentioned above. However it's not enough to get just legitimate tickets. The Sheriffs favorite place on this new stretch is right before the turning ramp onto Harvest Hills Blvd at the very end of the newly opened stretch. Why you may ask? Because the speed limit temporarily moves from 100 to 80 to 60 due to the fact that the freeway abruptly ends there. That is where they hide in their unmarked car. So they can take advantage of first-time ring-roaders who might miss one of the signs and catch them doing 72 where it's a 60.
