To me, Litsch is a key to the year. If he has a solid AJ-esque year (minus the strikeouts of course) I think the pitching will be ok.

Tall task though.

Agreed, Jays need the top 3 pitchers to be solid.. As the bottom two are going to have some tough games IMO.

I think thats fair. Litsch is going to have to throw quite a few innings and give the team a lot of quality starts for them to have much success. If he can pitch the way he did last year and do it over a full season he should give himself a chance to win 16 or more games.

If the Jays want to win half their games this year they will need Litsch and Purcey to stay healthy along with Doc and for them all to have pretty good seasons.

Do you even watch baseball? It wasn't so bad, just look at the scoreboard from the past few days. Maybe Cy Young winner Cliff Lee should pitch the derby?

I am excited that this team does not quit, and has only failed to score a run with the bases loaded and no outs only one time!

Jesse was getting hit hard today.....lots of long fly outs to the warning track (and of course the actual HRs).

Frasor and Tallet looked good in relief.

Not too worried about Jesse. He needs pinpoint control, has to be on the black or just off, if he slides in, you get what happened yesterday. he'll be fine.

The 1st inning yesterday is what killed the Jays. If they get 3 runs instead of 1, that game goes completely different the rest of the way.

I am leaving work shortly for some beers and lunch with all the baseball and the Masters on, i can see me staying at wherever we go for teh afternoon. Hope the wife doesn't mind driving home.

Jays beat the Tigers 6-2 today after a strong performance from pitcher Ricky Romero. Jays are now 3-1 on the season.

Very good start although the Tigers are highly over-rated.

Win 70% of your games at home and 50% of your games on the road and make the playoffs.

Would be great if Richmond can win in Cleveland tomorrow!

Romero and the bullpen were great, and the lineup is getting it done without much from Wells and Rios, great start!

Downs looked really impressive in relief eh? Good start for the Jays.

Too bad they can't play the Tigers every day.

^ And with the really low expectations, pretty much anything other than complete and utter failure is gravy.

Maybe that will be good for the team....
