How do you feel that in the Scotties and Brier, it's the Yukon/NWT team, not the Yukon/NWT/Nunavut team?

In a town of 300, no one else I know here listens to Puscifer. Everyone here loves Metallica.
You can't buy cd's here.
Chester is far from Sweden.

I teach. My uncle needed to hire someone to work half time for three months and no one applied. I could make just as much working half time as I could full time back in Newfoundland so I came up for the experience.
New jobs came up and I met my fiance so I have been here ever since.
Nunavut teaching salaries are the highest in Canada.

Kinda. The rangers keep a close watch of who and what is in the northern passage. Any strange boats are reported.

Polar bears are dangerous but they usually don't bother people. They are looking for meat that has been left out or that has been buried.
Polar bear would win a fight becuase the grizzly would be wearing mitts to keep warm.

What town do you live in?
Are you from there or did you move there?
If you moved there, why?
Are there alot of mosquitoes in the summer?
Listening to the radio, what kind of news do you hear? Is it totally rare to hear a crime news report?
What about politics? What kind of governing system do you have in the territories? We have the Legislative Assembly.
Did you know that all islands in Hudson's Bay and James Bay are part of Nunavut?
When your kid talks back to you do you say "I'll have Nunavut!!"?

I think they do other things then fight....
For those who missed it that is a Grizzly/Polar hybrid.

Beer is restricted and you can't buy a case at the store. You need to apply for a permit and have it shipped in. 4 flats of beer is about $220 + shipping by plane.

All satellite internet. It's called broadband but is still pretty slow overall.
The basic package is $63/month and that gives me 1GB of upload/download bandwidth a month. So now big downloads for me here.

I find other things to do with my time like taking my dogs for runs. I am trading stocks lately to fill the void.

That is a deal-breaker right there.

If you moved there, why? To teach.
Are there alot of mosquitoes in the summer? Lots but not as many as Newfoundland.
Listening to the radio, what kind of news do you hear? Is it totally rare to hear a crime news report? The local radio here has satellite radio so they just keep that running. We get CBC North so we get most news in Canada.
What about politics? What kind of governing system do you have in the territories? We have the Legislative Assembly. It's the same here we just have fewer representatives.
Did you know that all islands in Hudson's Bay and James Bay are part of Nunavut? Nunavut is one huge chunk of land mass. She's some big I tells ya!
When your kid talks back to you do you say "I'll have Nunavut!!"? Naw I just say shut up

Hey, buddy... False advertising in your location. Chesterfield Inlet is south of the arctic circle.
So do you Chesterfield Inletians have a hate on for the Baker Lakers or the Rankin Inletians?
What is the culture like?
Are there any inukshuks in your town?
Are the roads paved or are they all gravel (snow)?
What is the approximate population of Chesterfield Inlet? And the other towns and cities in Nunavut?
On those cold winter nights, do you get a warm feeling from knowing that even though you live in Nunavut, at least you don't live in Edmonton?

What is the culture like? A great culture and lots of friendly people. Many traditions here and a lot of respect for the elders.
Are there any inukshuks in your town? Of course!
Are the roads paved or are they all gravel (snow)? Gravel in summer, snow in winter. No paved roads and no roads out of town. The only way out of here and any other town in Nunavut is by plane.
What is the approximate population of Chesterfield Inlet? And the other towns and cities in Nunavut? Pop. in Chester is 300. Rankin is 2000. Baker is 1500. Iqaluit is 6500.

So for the basketball games, the team jumps on a plane and flys to Baker? How did you get your Jeep there?
