Been doing it since day 1. After 22 years, I guess you get decent enough at it. I don't use a mirror and I don't use shaving cream.

I hate shaving, so it has to be as simple as possible for me to be able to stomach it. Twice a week max, barring some unforseen formal occasion!
It pains me...but I give you DFF's shower shaving experience....

That does not make a lot of sense. You are in the shower already, throw some shampoo in your hair, throw shaving cream on face, wash body, then shave (using a mirror like everyone else suggested). Shave quickly, and rinse everything off.

This is much easier then making a mess and shaving in a sink. Adding the shave to the shower might add a minute or two tops.

Just a cheap (free) alternative to aftershave.

I shaved outside of the shower for the first time in about a year and my face has many cuts. A day after and I've got more zits on my face. I'll never shave outside of the shower again. Gotta love that shaving in the shower.

Put aloe vera cream on your face after you're doing shaving.

Works great to eliminate razor burn too.

The mirror I have in the shower used to not fog up...now it does.

This thread is useless without pictures of men shaving in the shower.

Does anybody know where to get a mirror that doesn't fog up in the shower. I tried WalMart and they didn't have anything. I don't live in Calgary I live in Lethbridge so try to keep the stores more general. Also I get really bad razor burn on my neck and have not been able to solve the problem. Any suggestions? This is why I wanna try shaving in the shower.

  1. Step 1
Apply a thin layer of shaving cream or liquid soap to the mirror with a lint-free cloth. The cream or soap will form a thin film that will prevent fogging.
  2. Step 2
Buff in the cream or liquid soap until it is evenly and thinly applied. A slight film will be visible, but it should dissipate after a few hot showers.
  3. Step 3
Leave the cream or soap on the mirror--do not wash it off with water. You'll find that your mirror no longer fogs up after a hot shower.
  4. Step 4
Reapply the shaving cream or liquid soap after a week or two when the mirror begins to fog up again. Wash the mirror with glass cleaner between applications to avoid a buildup of film.

Use some lather from your shampooing procedure and wipe the mirror with it. It works for me.

Also, use conditioner as your shave cream.

I'm so glad being scruffy is now acceptable. Hair clippers twice a week FTW.
