I cannot properly express my hatred for LOLcatz. By far the single most ######ed thing ever. I'd rather jump naked into a pool full of rabid wolverines than see another one of those things.

The most overused phrase in the sports world lately; "blah blah blah moving forward" and/or "blah blah blah going forward"
I hear it on the FAN960 almost daily. I've also noticed it on TSN, Sportsnet and player/coach/gm/commissioner/owner interviews.
It sounds so "corporate" ...cliche to the max!

But I will not stand by and allow you to bash hookers and blow. Hookers are people just like you and me, except they survive on blow and must perform sexual favours to attain said blow. If they happen to share this blow through out the course of the evening, OR if you supply the blow during the evening, then you have won over a hookers heart sir.

I thought that you would be fine with green text, but yellow text is something that would affect you......waiting for someone to get this joke.

I got it but I figure I should let everyone else in on the joke:

Parallax was a creature of pure fear that had been imprisoned in the Central Power Battery by the Guardians of the Universe in the distant past. Imprisonment had rendered the creature dormant and it was eventually forgotten, becoming known merely as the "yellow impurity" in the power rings.

Because Parallax is a manifestation of fear, and yellow, none of the other Green Lanterns, including Hal, could harm Parallax and, therefore, came under his control. Kyle taught them to feel and overcome fear so they could defeat Parallax and incarcerate him in the Central Power Battery once again.

Stories in 2006 retconned the ring's long-established lack of effect on yellow objects, stating that the ring-wielder need only feel fear and overcome it in order to affect yellow objects.

I'm getting tired of living so bloody close to Edmonton. Can't we like, move it? You know, like in lost.
I'm also sick of hearing about Azure's problems. Sarcastic, non green comment test. *

For me, often they are just thrown out there within one or two posts of the OP, so it's just really expected, but I think they can still be funny when used properly.
Except for the sarcasm coloured text, I hate that.

See, I guess even coloured sarcasm text can be funny when used properly. Cheers!

You mean where people will make another posting just to say "I agree" with the post above? Doesn't the Thanks feature mostly eliminate that?

I meant the whole give thanks feature. I always picture people giving each other high fives after a solid CP post when I see a "Thanks" thingy.

Put me in the green text category. IMO people that use that don't truly understand sarcasm.
Though for some reason I'm down with hookers & blow. It got stupid for awhile there, but its been so overused that for me it reverted back to being funny again...mostly because I know how much everyone hates it now. Never said it myself, but I laugh every time I see it now.

Regurgitating the same lame inside joke stuff over ad nauseum is starting to get old. All this crap is ending up in the hockey forum and it's getting old. And yes, I realize that this will spur some of you cretins on to do it more.
As you were.

I agree with this, except for the H&B stuff - I find myself mentally inserting it into every thread that does not already have it. It does seem to be the universal answer to everything (heartbreak, euthanizing a pet, things to do in xyz city, Flames losses - see heartbreak)*.
The alien overlord running joke always cracks me up as well.
* PS - to those of you who started threads on heartbreak and pet euthanizing, I apologize if I have offended you, likewise I apologize to anyone who wants to know what to do in Winnipeg or Edmonton.

The only thing I hate more than fata nazis are people that complain about people complaining about fata nazis. I'm pretty sure my life would be a f***load better if y'all would
a) stop calling fata every time someone posted a thread that may have been similar to a thread posted 3 years ago
b) if you insist on using the goddamn green text, at least use one that doesn't make my eyes bleed while attempting to read it. Neon is just wrong.
c) stop using hookers and blow as your whole post. It's only funny if you can slip it in there mid-conversation
d) if you're the c***sucker in the dodge chager in Cranbrook today, yeah you, the stupid sumbitch that I chased out of town before turning around to hit Timmys, the a-hole that shot rocks at my new truck because you had to spin your tires when you took off at the light, just know that I will hunt you down and kill your family. But I'll let you live. Because I think it's funny that you're going to live in misery what with your family being dead and all.

Yes but on the same token please for the love of Christ stop the "I like ..." threads.
Also, and I don't know if it is related to the requests to keep the fata claims to a minimum but if I see one more god damn "just a thought" or "golden record" or "50 wins for Kipper" threads I am going to kill someone. (don't get offended if you started those threads, i just looked at the main page and picked a few that looked redundant - Sorry thefanblogger usually your stuff is pretty insightful)
Seriously, most of those topics have been discussed ad nauseum for the last 3-9 friggin months. Please just search a little. What drives me more crazy is that the noobs don't even start most of the threads that piss me off it is experienced posters.
Most people know there have been ongoing threads about Kipper and the record, the backup situation/goaltending in general since about a month into the season and yet a new one has to be created after every game.
Also and perhaps most anoying are the purely philosophical threads about the Flames. Please for the love of god don't subject me to one more "let's keep our heads on straight" thread. As if what you are saying is in any way original.
We have the Panic Button thread and I think there is an anti Panic Button thread too. Use those. Just because people get a little down after a loss, another group of people go just as far the opposite way and feel the need to tell everyone on CP not to worry and that this is how a season goes BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Thanks, we get it. You, just like 90% of us are fairly level headed. Some of us even make a few panic sounding posts but for the most part everyone is a Flames fan and will be for some time. Please for the love of god stop making threads that feel the need to bless CP with your magical calming influence where you remind us all, like you're my friggin mother, that things will be ok and we are over reacting and that even Det didn't go 82-0. What in the hell ever happened to venting? Can't someone say they think Kipper blows ass chunks just once and not be treated like a total traitor? We just lost 5-2 and he had one of his worst games all year, people should be able to say things that are a little unlike their normal selves without having to worry that they will forever be known as a Kipper hater because when they were a little emotional and upset after a loss they talked smack about the Flames.
When we win we talk about the good things (usually). When we lose, especially if it is bad, we talk about the bad things. Please stop misinterpreting our analysis of the bad things as a bunch of naiive moron, chicken little types. I find it, albeit probably unintentional, really condescending.
If I've offended you feel free to make a "please don't rip on me, we're all friends thread" or a "CP is falling apart at the seams thread". If you find yourself wanting to do this start reading this post from the beginning. After enough times you'll realize that hyperbole, exagerating and context are very important on the internet because emotions can't properly be expressed in text alone.
