I have Sirius in my Jeep and XM in my car. I don't listen to anything else in my vehicles. I like the Joint (Reggae) and the Blues station on XM, and now they have the same stations on Sirius. I liked the Joint better than the Reggae station that was on Sirius before the merger. Other stations that I like are the Loft and the Garage which were only on XM, and are also now on Sirius. So, I'm happy with the merger - I just hope they find a way to stay in operation.

Wow, I spent my grade 5 year in Red Earth Creek. Didn't think I'd ever talk to another living soul that lived there! Only a couple hundred people there when I was there but maybe it's busier now. My parents owned the Petro-Canada Bulk Station, is that still around?

I've been watching this for awhile too. My year subscription is up in April and the best radio station I can pick up around here is the one out of Omak Washington that broadcasts highschool football games where the Omak team often has to lend player to the other schools so they can both field a team. I could spend the money on I-Tunes and download songs, but this is easier and there is more variety.

The problem with only using an iPod is that you never get a chance to hear new music. I like XM because I hear new stuff that I wouldn't hear if I just listened to my iPod. There are five different music channels that I flip through on XM plus the hockey station. I always have something to listen to and there's no need for me to use an iPod.

yup very true. i guess for me, i listen to the radio all day at work, so, i always hear the new stuff, then i just proceed to download it when i get home.
i do have many friends that enjoy the satellite radio, it is a pretty awesome invention.

Not only that, but with an iPod I never would've discovered the greatness of Adam Schein and Jason Ellis. And I never would've heard of Louis CK. A life without Louis CK is not a life I wanna live.

Sirius dodged another bullet today. They were loaned $280 million in exchange at 15% until 2012. Not to get too technical, but basically what Sirius has done here is issue preferred shares to Liberty Media to get this financing.

Should set everything up so that they are viable for the future.

I have been following this for a while as well. I still have a year left on my one subscription. I have Sirius in a vehicle I bought last year that came with a free one year subscription that expired at the end of last month. The highlight of my morning is getting in and seeing if the Sirius is still activated. Wonder how long I will get it for free?
